(Possibly) Solved: Automation FX issues

As we know automating fx can be troublesome in bm3, it sometimes does this thing where the value parameters change from 0-100 to 0-2000 or something like that. As well as other weird glitches like automation lines ‘flatten out’ upon session reload, so you can’t see the automation curve anymore.

I did some troubleshooting as I wondered for the first time if it might be plugin related. And I found what was causing all of this ! (For me in my setup at least). It was the z mors EQ. Once I took it off, all the automation curves showed up again and the 2000 % parameter changed back to 100% in all automation tracks.

You need to take the EQ off ALL tracks though. Even if you have a single one elsewhere it will cause all those issues.

Everything is now buttery smooth again. Even the freaking audio damage plugins are automating fine!.This is on the latest iOS update, iPad 11.

Rule of thumb:

USE AS MANY BM3 INBUILT FX AS POSSIBLE. THIS EASES COMPATIBILITY ISSUES. AND THE FX ARE MOSTLY EQUALLY AS GOOD AS ALL THE OTHER THIRD PARTY FX. THIS IS HOW NANOSTUDIO MANAGES TO BE SO STABLE. BM3 CAN BE TOO.

I’ve been slowly replacing all third party plugins with bm3s. And there’s literally no difference. The compressors. The reverbs. The EQs. They are all bread and butter. I feel like I’ve spent hundreds of pounds on plugins I really didn’t need.

Layer Organisation is Buggy (Fixed 3.0.3)

Today the different samples seemed to be spontaneously moving into different layers, however on closing and expanding the layers the samples were still all in the right place.

When I tried to move one back into its own layer (which in reality it was already in) BM3 crashed.

Critical BM3 Browser Bug 3.0.5 - Turned in to bad lag 3.0.6

If you drag a file in the browser and drop it back into the browser rather than a pad or track, the file will become corrupted or deleted and you won't be able to do anything with it. I've tried re-scan database as well as hard reset database, and neither help this situation.

Note the critical nature of this bug is such that you might be scrolling in the browser and instead of perfectly up and down swipes you accidentally tilt enough that your swipe is recognized as a grab and drag.

I thought the "add a sample" trick had alleviated my MIDI issues, but I'm still seeing some wacky stuff. Today, I had a MIDI controller on Channel 10 working nicely with a bank also on Channel 10. I then hooked up a second controller on Channel 1 and set it to play with a second bank assigned to Channel 1. When I play the first controller, I get Bank 1. When I play the second controller I get Bank 1 and Bank 2! Restarted BM3; no change. Restarted the iPad and reopened Beatmaker and still no change. Finally I just gave up and decided to play one controller... Any ideas about what is going on? (I've read the manual and every post here about how to set up MIDI in BM3 so it's not user error!)

This is a real baddy. I was working on a few sessions for a few hours and this happened. If you don’t force close the app, and just reopen it then it’s much more intermittent. It took me forever to narrow this down so if you anyone can confirm that would be great..

Don't Delete Banks in 3.0.5

I guess people must not be doing this, or someone would have said something. If you delete a bank, no matter what bank you delete, it will get weird. Banks will start having an identity crisis, and other odd things will happen, and there's nothing you can do to fix it besides load a save from before you deleted a bank. Try not to delete banks until you hear otherwise. Clear the contents instead.

Dragging a sample and releasing it before placing it on a pad corrupts the sample in the library.

Hi!

There seems to be no way to 'dismiss' the iCloud/DocumentPicker dialogue when using BM3 under iOS11.0.1?!
The 'location edit' menu is also not visible but can be tapped (it's where the line vertical is) due to the 'window' being too narrow?

Suggestion is that when DocumentPicker/Files.app gets implemented in BM3 a 'full screen' version would be much preferred.

No biggie for now since I've got all my stuff already imported and there are alternate methods to import files.

2 Double click loop
3 Hit tempo and enter or detect tempo

It works visually, however, it cuts off the end of the loop audibly but not visually

I think this is only affecting some people and not others, i had thought it was just the terribly designed sample left and right markers (No i am not being impolite, go and try Modsteps sample markers, the sample screen is an eighth of the size in Modstep, they work every single time, smooth as butter)
It is actually in a lot of places all over BM3, i am hitting the browser button on average 4 times before it opens for example.
There are plenty of places where this happens, some of the dials are completely unusable, for instance some of the dials on the envelopes in the modulation tab, they are directly next to the bottom of the screen, so sliding up and down is not really an option,load an AHDSR and the DSR dials all have different rotating rates, just very strange behaviour on dials all round.
If it happened at all in other apps i would just assume it is my silly old fat fingers, but it only happens in BM3, every other app is slick as butter.

Timer missing in Audio Recorder? (Fixed 3.0.3)

Hi!

Just noticed that the timer is no longer visible when recording using the 'Audio recorder'.

When I start the recording in threshold mode I see a timer 00:00 above the 'Waiting'.

Once the threshold is reached and recording starts the 'timer' disappears making it impossible to see how long the recording actually is?! (As far as I recall the 'timer' worked perfectly in 3.0.0 and 3.0.1!!).

I'm honestly starting to get worried when things that used to work in previous versions get 'broken' in newer versions of the app
(Still running BM3.0.2 on iPad Air 2 iOS10.3.3).

Hi All!

Bumped into a weird bug when changing the Browser Preview Volume in the Settings -> General Tab.

Start BM3 as normal and create a new session.
Go to Settings -> General.
While In the Settings tap on New to create a new session.
Now when I try to adjust the Browser Preview Volume BM3 bails to the iOS Springboard (ie. the app crashes).

This is highly repeatable on my Air 2, iOS10.3.3 even after reboots and ram-cleanups.
(I started to dig into this when I bumped into random crashes when trying to change the Browser Preview Volume).

I'm still running BM3 3.0.2...

No idea if this is a bug or not, if it is expected then a pop up should say (restart needed or such) just to stop confusion
