Can view plugin in GarageBand, but won’t show plugin on effects chain in BM3. Does Apple have something to do with this?

Hey everyone,
I hooked up my Tascam iXR interface to record some handpan samples. Once I set it up, I could only get audio through the iXR or iPad headphone jack, no Bluetooth audio. That was fine at the time, but now I can’t get any Bluetooth audio from BeatMaker at all, only through the headphone jack. Anyone know of a setting to fix this issue so I can get back to my fav BT headphones? lol

Mentioned Freeze Track/s in the feature request thread. My old ipad is flaking out pretty easily using BM3.. Probably upgrade later in year but a convenient 'bounce track to audio' would still be useful for when things are getting heavy on cpu - If I get a new ipad I'll probably push the cpu on that pretty quickly too..

Will try the suggested workarounds tomoro and see how they feel in practise. Hopefully not too long winded or cluttering up song sequencer with a ton of tracks etc..

Anyone been doing this yet? Anything to look out for/tips?

@mathieugarcia Can we get some information as to what these are reserved for internally in BM3? I’m assuming focus actions. But I don’t want to post any issues that I come across if this is not meant to be messed with. Almost all these cause app crashes in different ways.

Hi having a bit of trouble editing midi. Mainly how do you play part of a pattern and set the play bar to the middle of the pattern? - I seem to only be able to play from the beginning of a pattern so fine editing is really tedious as I keep having to start from the beginning. I could split the pattern I suppose but wondered what other people do. Thanks . I find midi editing really hard in BeatMaker 3 compared to cubasis or nanostudio2 ! So any tips would be fantastic.

Well I was wondering how do I go about getting better sounding snare drum rolls? I try to get them in by changing the quantization settings to more than 1/16, and tapping them out as much as fast I can but they always come out sounding like trap snare rolls. The sound im looking for is more authentic like snare rolls heard in Funkadelics music, but in music with acoustic drums period I guess you can consider as far s the sound as the drum rolls.

So, Is this even possible to do in BM2? If, so how can I do it?

Launchpad X custom mapping

I'm setting up my custommapping on my Launchpad using the components software. I got everything working except the chromatic keyboard. The first octave works fine but the second octave plays c,c#,d and d# but when I get to e it goes back to the third octave for some reason. I have them both set to the same midi channel. Any idea what this could be?

Controlling Bleass Voices with midi in BM3?

Hi all.

I’ve just purchased Bleass voices. I would like to be able to use it inside BM3 (so I can record midi notes which change the pitch of an audio input). I’m totally stuck with it though. 😂 Anyone used it? What method/methods do you use? I’m fairly new to voice/vocoder stuff. I’ve found it all quite confusing. I did manage to get DerVoco working, thanks to a thread on this forum, using one channel for the carrier and the other channel for the midi/synth. I’m guessing Bleass Voices doesn’t work in that way. Any help, most appreciated. Thanks!

Hi!

I'm having audio issues with BM2 on my iPhone 6. When I bounce between an opened IAA and BM2, move to different screens within the app and even if my screen goes to sleep and I re-enter my password, audio becomes distorted, producing popping, dropouts and crackling for about 2 seconds. This also occurs when I make sudden movements on my midi controller - Korg nanokontrol. Has anyone else experienced issues like this?

I thought it was my phone but then I tested Garage band, it has no issues when I bounce between IAA, other apps or when I use my midi controller. I watched BM2 audio engine and memory in settings but everything is super low. I think BM2 is a great app but am a little disappointed with the glitchy performance, especially paying the full $20 for the app.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Moving key

Having programmed in a bassline in Rozeta in two sections in different keys, I then recorded that down to midi and stopped the sound from responding to Rozeta.

Coming back to this save after a couple of updates, I find that the bassline now sounds different! The recorded midi has now changed key! So, I went and looked at the Rozeta baseline and low and behold that had changed key too!

This seems to have happened on two separate savesof different songs.

These are just odd song part ideas and hardly important, but it’s a really odd happening. The things that are the same are the following:

A Rozeta baseline has changed key each time.
Recorded midi has changed key each time.
It is the same bass sound on two different song part saves!
So far, I have not found this to have happened anywhere else or with any other Rozeta parts that have been recorded to a midi track.
The two changes are both on saves that have not been used since updates with both BM3 and Rozeta.

Or maybe I’m just going nuts lol

I have a sequence set up as a plug-in and it sounds nice, but I cannot for the life of me find a way to record it onto a track in the sequencer. I have this issue with most of my AUv3s. I'm asking because my ipad is currently on ios7 and is working good but ios 8 does add new features. My only worry is if I put ios 8 on my ipad if it will slow down my ipad and ruin the stability I have with beatmaker 2. With this said, to those who have an ipad 3 did it slow down your ipad or ruin you beatmaker 2 experience?

This error message comes up when loading a session. I choose "Search the whole BM3 directory..." and after a moment the session loads, but when I save and reload, I get the same error message on loading. I've tried saving and rescanning the database--same result. I've tried saving and hard resetting the database--same result.

What am I missing here, or is this a bug?

Hi I'm new to the community I bought a iPad pro 11 inch and sold my MacBook pro. I thought the iPad pro would be strong enough for my mobile production needs , turns out it's been nothing but a headache . If I use More than 1 instance of a AU I get all kinds of CPU spikes , but since I've downloaded the new beta it has stabilize a bit .. also I'm getting latency issues using the on screen pad and my USB midi keyboard. I really love bm3 I actually like it for production better than logic and that says a lot ... So I have a few questions are there any settings I can do to my iPad to make it play nice with bm3? Why can't I set my buffer to 64 it always changes when I go to another tab , and will getting a external sound card help with my audio issues? I really don't wanna have to go back to the MacBook pro it's not looking good ATM thanks for any advice

NOOB Needs Help with Midi Focus Issues

Hi All,

Forgive me but I need help. Every time I try to assign my pads on my Akai MPD218 using the midi focus section of settings, the app does not remember or bind the correct input. For example, I hit "trigger pad 1" and then tap pad 1 on the akai, the binding goes from "none" to "mpd218 Port A: Chan.1: CC 12". Then I hit "trigger pad 2" and then tap pad 2 on the akai. The binding goes from "none" to "mpd218 Port A: Chan.1: CC 3" or it will or "......Chan.1: CC 13" or ".......Chan.1: CC12". No matter what it changes the Trigger Pad 1 binding back to "none".

When trying to "Auto Learn", the loop icon in the top tool bar starts flashing/stuttering and when pressing pads on the akai, nothing gets binded or sometimes it will randomly bind to 2 or 3 pads without me pressing anything at all.

This cannot be rocket science. I've followed instructions, videos, manual etc. What am I missing?

Synthmaster player no sound in bm3

Loads up in bm3 but no sound is heard.

This synth is driving me nuts lately,sent them an email as well as it refuses to load in audiobus 3 and cubasis 2.

I don't usually ask questions on forums, but every time I'm on that screen (since 3.0.2) I'm having to be extra careful not to touch/press that button. I think it's the only button I haven't pressed.

Can I ask for some help on my Korg NanoPad 2 controller not triggering drum pads in BM2 ? It work ok with keyboard sampler, but I can not use it for drum pads no matter what I do...I changed octaves up and down in controller...still no response.
Controller work flawlessly in other apps, like iMPC,...

Hello everyone!
I’m a little new to beat maker 3, i’m still learning everything and overall i have been having tons of fun!
I’m just having a slight issue with the sampling part of it. I can’t seem to change my sample’s pitch without it going faster/slower which then makes it not go along with the BPM. Even if I check it’s BPM after it’s been pitched down or up, it says that it’s still the same, even though it clearly is not.

If someone can please help me that would be very appreciated.

Unable to Delete Instrument Track

I am very confused as to how to remove an Instrument track on one of my projects. When I long press on the instrument in question and the menu box pops up that has the delete button in it, the recording button is always active, and the delete button is not clickable. Note that it is not the only instrument on the project either. Any ideas how to get around this?

Fade in/out in audio track wav editor

What's the quickest way to apply Tiny fade in/out on a 16 bar clip? Just to kill a click/pop.

Need to check the manual but last time I briefly tested the fade out/in it would fade the full length of the sample. Some kind of 'fade' button that then allowed you to apply varying fade in/out via touch would be great. Maybe it's there already and I missed it?

Or even a 'fix click/pop' option that auto applied a small fade in and small fade out..

MIDI learn problem - mixer MUTE

Hey guys, I am loving beatmaker 2 but I am having one problem and I'm wondering if you can help me out.

I assigned one of the tracks 'mute' button to my controller using midi learn but I want to change it now however, I cannot for the life of me find where to change it?

I know how to do it with all the other midi CC's. simply go to the midi icon in the bottom right corner of each instrument etc but for the solo/mute buttons in the mixer I cannot find the midi options and how to unassign it.

Any help?

Help with MIDI to split drum pads and keys

I can't figure out Beatmaker's midi mapping. I have a Nektar Impact LX Mini keyboard which has 8 pads & 25 keys. I set the drum pads to midi channel to 10. The keys I set to midi channel 1 (switchable for multiple instruments). I setup two banks in beatmaker A & B. In back A I placed a virtual instrument piano. In bank B I have drum samples. No matter what I do I can not get Bank A (virtual instrument) to play. It ONLY plays when I use the drum pads AND I must have that bank selected.

Basically all I want to do is have all midi channel 1 to go to bank A even if I am on Bank B. And I want all midi channel 10 to go to Bank B no matter what bank is currently selected. Basically all I want to do is play drums with the pads and play a virtual instrument with the keys at the same time. I know it can be done, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Always save with samples: how to?

I'm moving my projects to a new iPad and resaved all of my projects with samples. That wasn't horrible, but I'd like to be better organized in the future.

Is there a way to make BM2 always save new recordings/samples in the project_samples folder? I understand how to do that with "Save As," but that requires a new folder every time.

Audio Units Not showing up in list

I have BeatMaker 3 installed on a new iPad Pro. There are only a few AU that show up on the list. I have too many installed to list, but for example, all of the Audio Damage AUs and all of the Kymatica Effects are installed but do not appear on the list. Any idea on how I can remedy this? Thanks.

Configure how MIDI velocity affects sample's volume

Hi Beatmakers,

I use BM3 for finger drumming with velocity sensitive pads.
My question is about how exactly MIDI velocity (from a controller) affects sample's volume.

I saw Low Vel and High Vel settings in mapping. Let's say I set low value to 10 and high to 100. If my MIDI controller sends 101 will BM play sample with 100 (or some other value) or simply won't play it at all?
Let's say I want output volume be always between some value A and value B and calculate it according to incoming MIDI velocity. For example, if MIDI velocity is 1 then output is A. If MIDI velocity is 127 then output is B. And all values in between by simple formula. Is it possible to configure BM3 that way?
Ableton Simpler has a setting called Vel > Vol, which determines how much MIDI note velocity affects sample's volume. Is it possible to have something similar in BM3?

According to my experiments the current configuration capabilities are very limited, so please consider this as a feature request.

low memory message

MPK MINI using too much power :-(

Anyone have any advice for a midi controler using too much power?

I have been using my mpk mini with beatmaker 2 lately and I love it.

But for some reason I keep on getting a power issue message when ever I use the drum pads too much. I set the drum pads so that they can control the drum machine in BM2 and even when in playback mode I can see the drum pads still moving about since it has a red light made within each pad indicating when its tapped.

I think this is what causes too much power to be drawn.

Anyone know how to stop the drum pads from being triggered on the midi device, so that their only used when in the drum machine menu on my ipad?

Or can anyone give me advice for this problem?

BM3 Session corrupting?

So I’ve spent a few days getting the feel of BM3. Ive done 6 quick sessions so far. The last one seems to have corrupted though. It seems to load up fine. I presss play and then nothing happens. If I try and load another session nothing happens.. If I restart BM3 the other sessions will load and play. In the corrupted session I only used AUV3 instruments. FM Player 2, Syntronik, and two instances of SynthMaster One.

I have been searching the forum here. I saw that sessions can corrupt if BM3 closes while saving etc. Mine didn’t close while saving so I’m not sure what’s happened. Are corrupted sessions recoverable? The session I did was just a quick one, so it’s no big loss but it is worrying for future projects. Thanks!

So for some reason I thought there was an LFO in the sample edit window of BM3, I must have been confused and thinking of my mpc1000.. is there an onboard lfo in bm3? I just wanted to add a tiny bit of lfo to the pitch of my sample to give it a little tape warble without an AU..
