I’d like to export MIDI sequence created by BM3 as audio. But If I select EXPORT > AUDIO Export, only empty audio can be exported. Does anyone know the way to freeze MIDI track and render it to audio?

I exported a song today and there is heavy static in the sound file. I tried the following:

Export from Master at WAVE 16 bits

Export from Master at WAVE 24 bits

Export from Master at WAVE 32 bits

Export from Main Out track at WAVE 16 bits

Export from A1 track at WAVE 16 bits

Export from B1 track at WAVE 16 bits - this last one was ok

The fix was to turn disk streaming off for all pads in A1.

I would like to submit a feature request to allow export and import of standard midi files. Following what Ableton provides would be incredibly helpful. Ableton Live allows export to a standard midi file but only at the Clip level. Being able to export a clip to a midi file or import a midi file into a clip is all that is needed, in my opinion. That feature alone would be incredibly beneficial to the more midi based composers and would increase the level of integration with other DAWs significantly. I love the Beatmaker interface. It's modern, clean, efficient, intuitive, and makes a perfect partner to Ableton Live. I much prefer this app over Cubasis.

Whats going on guys, in having trouble with my BM2 and exporting audio files. I recently exported few loops that i have mad in BM2. drop-boxed it. The idea was to chop them up in FL Studio and make a full beat out of them. Everything goes as it should. How ever when i select the chopped loop in th channel rack in fl studio and hit the keys on the midi keyboard or the pc keyboard it wont play the loop but instead it'll give me a low deep rumbling distorted sound. But if i click on the sound and then click the wave file inside of that box where you can normalize and tighten up the sounds and so on it'll play as it should. The loop is 2-4 bars long but when i drag it on to song mode it end up being 96 bars. Wort part is , it still tony play and give me that deep distorted rumbling sound. This doesn't happen-with any other apps exported wav files , including the purchased kits that i exported through iTunes anyone know why this is happening?

So I'm trying to export stems to do final mixdown in another app.

The BM3 UI appears to advertise that you can boil down not only each bank, but each pad within a bank, to its own audio file. However, there are several issues:

If I switch to Tracks mode in the Audio Export menu, I can select each bank, and if that bank has multiple pads, I can select the pads in each bank.

However, when I do get the list of pads in each bank and select the ones I want, if I go back, it doesn't show me the banks I selected any more.

Also, when I finally do the export, some of the pads in a bank (or a bank itself) export silent.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which banks and pads export with sound and which don't. There's no muting or soloing going on, and any effects on individual pads are turned off as I want to export each pad or bank dry.

What could I be missing? You can export multiple banks and pads at the same time, right?

As an aside, the BM3 documentation is exceptionally poor, and hasn't answered a single question I've had while using this product, which is great. I could offer some advice on how to improve it and perhaps reduce frustration.

I’m under no illusion that doing everything on iOS including “mastering” will result in something produced by a professional studio, but I do want to work towards releasing music that goes up to a comparable enough level that I can be satisfied with, within the (self imposed) limitations of the ios platform - it’s a creative challenge.

Anyway, I was scratching my head on how best to get consistent levels across tracks, make a running order for an EP / album, work on transitions between tracks and export individual “final” masters. Then it hit me that instead of using another app, why not just do it all in BM3?

This might be obvious for others but I thought I’d share my lightbulb moment anyway:
1) Export mixed tracks individually
2) Import each mixed track to an audio track in a new project
3) Import favourite reference tracks you know really well for A/B testing to individual audio tracks
4) Use track automations to fade in / fade out / overlap tracks as necessary
5) Apply a limiter (I use FAC maxima) to the Main out channel to ensure levels stay under whatever db you set
6) Apply individual compressors/limiters/whatever fx to individual tracks or the main out and hop around until you feel everything is coherent
7) Select a loop for each track you want to export, then export > loop, and repeat

I’m far from finishing this process, but thought I’d share anyway.
Anyone else with a similar workflow?

I exported the master track of an 86 bar loop which said it rendered and the wave was available, but when I hit export BM3 crashed.

When I started BM3 again it had two versions of my session saved with the same name, one above the auto save and one under. I loaded the top most (figuring most recent) session and got a other error message:

"Some samples couldn't be found. Do you want BeatMaker 3 to locate them? ..."

I hit "Search the whole BM3 directory" and that happened, but I didn't get a confirmation window that any samples were found or anything like that. Just dumped me back in the session. Saved the project as suggested. On the previous error message.

I tried listening through to see if everything was good but was getting audio crackles. Went into settings -> audio & midi devices and my latency was set to 128. I bumped it up to a conservative 512 samples, went back to the timeline view, hit play... And still crackles?! Went back into settings and saw that the buffer had reset to 128 samples again. Tried setting it to 512, repeat, same behavior.

Restart BM3, select my session, and get the same missing samples dialog. But I had saved it after searching last time so either the samples were not found or BM3 didn't save?

Back to latency settings... Ok! Now it says 512 samples! Playback sounds normal. Track isn't missing anything that I can hear (lol I didn't sleep last night, finding new ways to crash bm3 while rushing out my weeklybeat and watching fate, how dead are my ears?! But really I think everything is there)

So yeah... I feel like I need to start video taping myself doing bm3 sessions because this was just one of several crashes I experienced, and of the crashes this was one that I could easily remember the steps for even if I couldn't reproduce it.

I would be happy to beta test any dev version since it 3.0.10 crashes on me without fail every week that I sit down at it! And I obviously love it since I'm powering through despite the chunks of lost work and being slowed down submitting reports

Thanks!
