I Have an idea...lets start having BM battles.

Biggest issue for getting feedback? actually getting it =.=
plus its kind of boring on here...so I figure we should hold some beat battles. It'll force us to give criticism and receive it as well, while improving our skills and having fun.
Also, they could just be topic beats...not competition but just see what we could make given certain circumstances IE:make a beat with BM ONLY samples but only drum samples can stay the same while everything else must be chopped up or make a middle east inspired beat, ect. ect.
Anyone else agree here? I really think itll be good. And ofcourse everyone can participate(but then again some could be selective, like a BM noob battle or Rapresenta VS Sabotage(Just an EX)))

    i'd probably give this ago, but I'm not that keen on using any of the samples that was already on beatmaker, I think there aweful.

    Good idea but lets have the battles after BM2 drops and everyone gets used to using it first because as we all know BM1 is limited as far as full production features. But I'm definitely with it when BM2 is released. Like you said it'll be alot of fun plus it'll help us step up our beat game.

    I'm down but Representa is right. We should wait till BM2 drops and it should be anytime this summer. I'd work with that concept of using only BM Sample's or Kit's since i been doing that for a while now, even tho the kits aren't that good.

    I've been thinking about this for awhile. A nice refrerence point may be the cats over at spforums.com. They have battles every week. Everybody can participate in a battle but there's different rules for different kinds of battles. For most regular battles, a sample is provided, and then a break. From there its all fair game as long as you use only an SP, in this case only BM. Also there's whats called Open Challenges where you can use any piece of hardware or software and the point is to just see what different guys do, how they flip a sample, swing the hats, etc.. And I don't think production battles were ever fully competitive, its a learning experience for everyone. Thanks for bringing it up Scythe. Can't wait for BM2!

    Very good suggestion Skep, sounds like a good frame to follow for most of the battles.
    Once BM2 gets out its going to be sick up in these forums <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
