Law Offices of Gary A. Rosenberg calling about a debt? Need advice.

I recently started getting calls from the Law Offices of Gary A. Rosenberg about an old debt. It’s been stressful, and I wasn't sure what my rights were or if I should even talk to them. I felt pressured to just pay something to make it stop, but I held off.

I found a helpful guide that explained how to handle this properly. The biggest thing I learned was that I can request a debt validation letter within 30 days of their first contact. This forces them to prove the debt is actually mine and that the amount is correct. Apparently, you should always ask for this in writing.

The guide also mentioned that you have rights under the FDCPA to protect against aggressive tactics, and that it's important to check for errors in the debt reporting. You might also be able to negotiate a settlement or payment plan.

Has anyone else dealt with this firm before? I'm wondering about the best way to proceed and if it’s worth negotiating a settlement with them or getting a lawyer involved. I just want to make sure I don’t get taken advantage of. Any shared experiences or advice would be really helpful right now.
