I doubt we'll see this on any app due to the complexities of signal routing... but never say never... I'd love to be wrong!

yeah, tabletop is the only software on the ipad that i've seen with it. any other tips?

Meteor multitrack has it too, and it's much better than tabletop's

Tabletop is like having a crippled useless reason on ipad ...who agrees? Othing in tabletop is advanced its all like lite version products...like the drum sampler is so weak in comparison to beatmaker 2s drum unit...the matrix sequencer thing has nothing on aurora or tenori i, the effects are kinda bad...the lp filter sucks, the whole sequencer in tabletop is confusing to me...i can say its a potential app that just fails miserably for nowand costs the user lots of money to do so...just buy the real apps it copies and copy paste between them.

Meteor is ugly as a turd, and its hard to use...its not my fave daw by far, in fact i almost like sonar better...the best 4pockets app is aurora...which is pretty sweeeeeeeeet , if you wee looking a tenori i...forget itget aurora its wayyyyyyyyyy better!

There hasnt been an impressive daw yet on ipad...garageband could have been but the track count is too low and there is no editor for midi or audio blocks...the effects are not there...to me the biggest epic fail of all times is garageband for ipad2, yes it has a few good features...but without copy and paste, block editing, limited effects and tracks and perhaps the weakest sampler of all times...it FAILS...apple shoul know better than this...and it doesnt add or update at all.

Why are all the app devs making their eqs look like the eq in a 1980s stereo system? And sound like it also? Really? Ummm the phucking ipad2 is a touchscreen...why do i want eq sliders? Ever? Apple makes a badass product called logic...go look at the channel eq...mess with it while the sequencer is running....now imagine this brought to touch screen...and smiiiiiiiiile.

Intua does need to hire me...I am a gearwhore to the max. Lmao! I have been using music tech since 1983! The omission of circuit modeling in bm2 is more than likely missing only because they havent even considered it yet...this perhaps might be the first time they are hearing of it? Circuit modeling? You know ala decimort... Allowing your engine to be able to mimic the sound output of classic (defining) machines such as mpc60, mpc3000, ensoniq mirage, ensonic asr, emu sp 1200, and etc. The mixer could mimic the ssl console and so on, at the end of the day if what i make in beatmaker2 sounds terrible...im done, i wont keep using it. One of the things i have noticed about beatmaker2 and the io dock is it does kinda sound gearish...and that is a good thing...the output of the app is not hot enough but maybe that will come soon.

Hehe agreed Intua should hire u. But do u know how to write software though? I'm sure that's what they're more interested in.

Anyway back on topic, I do hope a side compression is in the making for the near future.

The real problem with the iPad is you can't do separate outs for each voice. I can't use my external compressor to side chain I am choosing to only use drums out of BM2 as well as sequencing hardware which I can sidechain myself:)

You can do something similar to side chain compression by using the LFO routed to volume. Try it out.

    you are wrong! ;]

there has been a side chain compressor in sunvox since the aug2011 update... works pretty wicked imho:

now what i wish was if you could route audio from one app to another internally... i doubt we'll see this any time soon due to the complexities of apples fascist control... ;]
