Hi

Beatmaker2 is a sample based production tool. So I recommend you start with loading your device up with some good samples. The drum machine can be loaded either with hits or loops, same with the sampler (keyboard). I suggest loading the keyboard sampler with good single note samples, whether synth sounds or regular instruments. The sampler has some good parameters that you can adjust and manipulate the loaded sample into some good working patches. Plus the sound editor in BM2 (save the time-stretch issue I'm running across ) you can really chop up and edit these samples to make them unique.

You can find samples in a lot of places now a days. You can purchase sample CDs or even download some good sets for free from various torrent sites.

I hope one of these days the devs add an actual modeling synth in BM so you don't have to always rely on samples but until then, the quality and sounds of the samples you have will dictate the what you output from BM.

I also highly suggest getting beepstreet's Sun Rizer synth!! Esp for the styles you're talking about. Even though you have to go back and forth between the two apps, you can record your parts in Sun Rizer and import them into BM via audio copy/paste.

Hope that helps some

Thanks this is a great start I was thinking which synth to use either addictive or sunrizer now I just have to read the manual so I can see how to bring samples in I'm sure it's from my Mac to whatever.

Thanks again

Here is some good advice.... Get both Additive Synth, and Sunrizer. They are the monsters of iOS synths...

Thanks again I have already downloaded addictive and will get sunrizer next but here is one more question then I'm going to start putting things together.

I have a mac and a have a bunch of samples and loops on it but how do I get it to beatmaker2 I tried with iTunes with no luck is there a software I need or is there somewhere in the manual it shows me how to bring some of these sounds in so I can put them in the drum kit and synth. Hey Beatmaker2 really rocks and Im hoping for more stuff in the next update.

Hi,

You can upload your samples to BM2 using an FTP client. The User Manual covers it all step-by-step, you can download it at:

Thanks Colin,
I tried cyberduck wouldn't work, filezilla does but it doesn't recognize any of the samples I have somevare already in live and somevare on the desktop. Do I need to convert anything? Trying to transfer some dubstep samples from loop master also they arevalready in iTunes but it doesn't bring anything up or show a filewherebto get them. It has to be me.
Where is the betbplace for me to get loops and samples and also what format to convert them.

Hi,

What problem did you get with CyberDuck exactly?
As for your samples, they need to be in WAVE or AIFF standard audio formats.

Cyberduck keeps failing, won't open server doesn't really give me an FTP option. The samples I'm trying to load are wav.
I did get one in with filezilla but when I try to open it it says empty. Is there a file converter available.
Cyberduck gives an FTP option but its not the same as the one in the manual(I have a Mac with lion if that helps)
I spent a couple of hours and stll can't get it to work.

One other question, it was recomended to use both addictive synth which I did download and sunrizer.
Would it be better if I used nlog pro since it has options to cut and past I'm trying to create dubstep, minimal, techno and trance.

Sorry fr the long winded questions still think beat maker2 s supperiorvto others.

Got it going....

Just a quick question for the use in making trance, minimal and dubstep with the update with nlog,

Which really is the synth for me to have, nlog pro or sunrizer.

Thanks,
