Battery use when ipod idle

edited November 2011 in Support
Hi all,

With BM2 running but iPod on stand-by the battery drains fast, is this a known issue?

I can exit each time if need be, but other apps can stay open and not eat the power when on stand-by so thought I would ask.

Cheers,
LW

  • I always double click the home button and shut down BM2 in the tray to stop this from happening. BM2 isn't the only app I have that drains the battery in idle. In fact I usually clear most apps when I'm not using them.

I am one of those rare people that wish the "multitasking" could be switched off and on. I like my iDevices running clean, and so instead of just one button to turn an app off, now I have to go through extra steps to actually turn it off. All the apps running in the background slow down your device, and cause memory errors.

On the other hand there are times I want the multitasking. Like I said, I wish it was a switchable option.

    Hi,

Thanks for the info/advice. I know what you mean about the multi-task, sometimes useful, sometimes a pain. In a way it was easier with my 3G <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> I pick up/put down the device a lot and don't always want the hassle of closing/opening every time, but not the end of the world, I've just got used to working that way with other apps.

If it gets a tweak someday to not own the battery in stand-by then cool. I've also noticed BM2 allows the screen power saving to kick in even if BM2 is in use over MIDI, if you hit the screen you're OK but if you're using a MIDI controller and iRig MIDI jamming away on the pads for a while, the screen still dims/closes etc even though BM2 is "active".

    Cheers,
    LW.
