Highly disappointed

So intua support states that synthstation 25 support will be added in the next release. This was back in August. So I get all excited when there's an update today. (took some time eh??). I open it up an STILL NO SYNTHSTATION SUPPORT?!? Can I get my money back??? Nanostudio is kicking intuas butt right now.

This would be a great app. And I know, midi bridge is available, but hey, let's spend another $9 and let's eat up all of our iPhones CPU, right??? Take the week and please incorporate synthstation support!!! You'll make many people happy.

• Hello,

The updated AKAI SynthStation SDK with support for iOS 5 has been released a bit late for our 2.2 update, so we had to postpone it for another update.

You can still use your SynthStation with BeatMaker 2, using an app called MidiBridge.

Cheers,
Colin

Doesn't the Akai support coreMIDI? I was thinking about getting one but if they expect all software makers to support their HW instead of the OS standard, I'll wait.

This is not intuas sole responsibility...as neither is y io dock...

Akai and alesis need some flames too

Besides...
If you based your purchase on the fact that beatmaker2 works or doesnt with any particular controller then maybe you shouldnt have made your purchase. I made sure that bm2 worked with io dock before the purchase. Its crippled right now, but i am fairly sure it will be fixed.

Beatmaker2 is hands down the best app on ipad for music...much beyond gb and music studio or its clone fruity studio...

In fact the biggest dud about fruity or music studio is they dont sample at all...fruity is completely built upon sampling...so its a product reskin and rename lol

I agree with MicGees, especially about Fruity, WTF no editable sampler?!?

I don't think there is a long term need for Synthstation support. Akai's solution never gained traction with developers and now that that Apple released CoreMidi Akai should really support it.

Sadly I've seen this story play out so many times over the years. A vendor puts out HW hoping that their proprietary protocol will gain traction and they'll have a licensing cash cow. It doesn't and the HW never gets updated.

Not to be a jerk but shouldn't Intua focus on items that benefit the whole BM2 user base instead of just a small fraction who have specific hardware?

Seriously, ss25 support would've been nice. But it didn't happen and it might not happen for a lot of other apps. So you can continue to complain, or just purchase midibridge. If you complain about an 8.99 price tag, dood that's less than a pizza. And midibridge won't give you bad breath or heartburn, plus it works great. Not just with BM2, but with other apps as well (it's nice to have ss25 for addictive micro).

What's the issue with io dock and Beatmaker ?

Unuseably noisey inputs...
Terrible
• @MicGee$: As far as we know, we haven't noticed any specific issue with the iODock.
What BM2 does is simply read/record using Apple's API a digital audio signal (the software has no real knowledge of what is the current sound card, the iOS does this low-level programming work).

Are you having the same problems with other iOS recording apps using the iODock ?

Cheers,
Colin
