Help and information please

I'll say now that I'm a complete novice when it comes to making music and definitely when it comes to beat maker 2.
That's basically my excuse if any of my following questions are dumb.

Right, I havent purchased beatmaker yet but i want to if it can do what i want.
I want to use the drum pad in beat maker, I want to be able to play a drum beat ( mp3 ) that I've made on the computer and then use the drum pad to play samples / noises, again from my computer, over the top of the beat? Is this possible? Sorry for my dumb question.

A bit more information... Would I have to assign the beat I wanted to play to a pad on the drum machine or would I play it another way? The beat will be 1 - 4 minutes long.

The samples I wanted to play would be assigned to the pads I assume, how easy is it to get samples assigned to the pads?

I plan to do this live, if that helps at all.

Thanks in advance for anyones time.

    Hello DiscoJaws,

BeatMaker 2 is able to do what you describe, especially with the upcoming update.
You would first need to convert your MP3 files to WAV on your computer or BeatMaker 2 (iPod import), transfer them to BM2 and load them on a drum machine. With the current store version (2.2), you'll need to work along the sample memory limit, but, with the upcoming update, we've implemented sample streaming. This basically means you won't be limited by the device RAM, as samples will be played directly from disk.

I suggest you take a look at the manual, which would give you more insight of what BeatMaker 2 is able to do. Get it here: http://www.intua.net/media/intua/downlo ... Manual.pdf

If you need more information, feel free to ask!
    Mathieu.
