HARD RESET - [Solved] :-)

edited September 2017 in Support

Has anyone used this?

Do you get a warning pop-up?

What gets reset?

(Please no guessing!) 'HARD RESET' experts only! ;)

I don't usually ask questions on forums, but every time I'm on that screen (since 3.0.2) I'm having to be extra careful not to touch/press that button. I think it's the only button I haven't pressed.

Cheers,

  • I'm no expert but I have had to use it a fair bit when an earlier BM3 completely borked my folders and some where no longer visible, and any time tags are broken.
Basically it acts like you have freshly installed all your content, so it does a deep scan and sets everything up, It fixed my issue but if you have a lot of content it will take a long time to do the reset.

Personally I would say avoid it completely unless Intua say "Do a hard reset" it is there for those moments really.

    Cheers man!

I think my/the most important question is:

Do we get a warning/conformation pop-up, or does it initiate immediately like the 'RE-SCAN' does?
If not @mathieugarcia, can we get that pop-up. Cheers,

It's the same as BM2 which has 'Reset database' and 'Update database'.
But because it's in the BM2 iOS 'settings' it is cancel-able.

I only ever used 'Update database'

  • I actually forgot if there was a pop up or not, so I just checked for you, yes there is ;)

    As far as I'm aware
Re scan = Check for any changes compared to the current database.
Hard Reset = Scrap the database and rebuild from scratch.

  • Cheers 5!

    I finally pressed it! :-)

    Great to see that ^
