Import from Noise.io

edited January 2009 in General
I've just read on the Noise.io website that a coming soon update to Beatmaker will allow direct importing of samples from Noise.io without needing a PC. I read two things here; coming soon and no need for a PC. So we can make samples in Noise, save them and then open Beatmaker and use them. How cool?

Now, all we need to worry about is "how soon". But boy, am I looking forward to this.

We have just submitted Noise.io Pro 1.2 to Apple. Hope it gets approved before 24th (they go on holiday 24th-27th)

It already has all the necessary functionality for direct Beatmaker export.

As for the BeatMaker 1.3.2, I think I can quote Intua here:
"this will have to wait a few more days/weeks."

Hats off to the Intua team for their excellent product and their will to cooperate! This is a big step for the whole iPhone-music platform.

First of all, this thread is older than the one you provide the link for. (which I see you created) So you're the one who has to read the posts before posting. Secondly, the guys from Noise.iO already posted here so it's definitely more relevant. What is exactly your point ?

Sorry, but the only replies that I can see here are those made by Noise and Yourself...
Nothing here (move along) - official or otherwise from iNtua...
Only present posts are from:
Zack
Toltek
Noise
carmot
lostlogic

"Secondly, the guys from Noise.iO already posted here so it's definitely more relevant."

... and how does that make it more relevant without official iNtua statement?!
Somehow I can NOT see iNtua here..."
Am I missing something..?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you brought the whole subject of 'posting here or there' up.
Peace and let's hope the noise.IO and Beatmaker integration is here one way or the other.
That said..have you tried synthPond? I've bought that one and I'm having a blast...one sound, but pretty wicked platform.
Happy New Year

We've had the chance to test Beatmaker 1.3.2.

Import from Noise.io works fine

Now a little more waiting and you will see it yourself

Is noise.io worth buying? I've read some conflicting reviews online. People on this forum seem to think it's pretty good. Any pro's and con's from an expert?

Good news. That means Beatmaker 1.3.2 could be available this month?

I'm no expert but if you have Beatmaker, when 1.32 comes out you will want to get Noise.io. The two applications will work together on the iPhone to create sounds (on Noise.io, a full on synth) and import directly into Beatmaker, without need of a computer.

As a synth, never mind the fact it's on the iPhone, Noise.io rocks.

Quick instructions on getting Noise.io recorded loops from Beatmaker

1) Record a file in Noise.io using the new Record menu.

2) Play it and if you're satisfied press "Save to Library".

3) Close Noise.io Pro, Launch Beatmaker

4) And within Beatmaker you get the file from within Pads>Sample>Load ....

It's that easy!

P.S. You can always delete the samples by using the "server" mode, launching a browser and opening the address given by Noise.io. All the samples will be shown and can be deleted.

Been playing with this the past couple of days... Its AWESOME!! Congrats to you both for a successful integration!
Would love to see other music apps follow suit using the same server based retrevial etc.
One request that I would love to see, not a big deal, is renaming the noise.io sample before saving to library so that when I load up a sample in Beatmaker I load the right one. If I am messing with synth sounds/phrases in Noise.io at say 100bpm and I record some phrases as well as overdubs with those phrases or indeed any other sample at 100bpm its difficult from within Beatmaker to immediately ascertain which is the one I need.
As I said, its a minor thing but would be nice touch.
Another option is to have the text within the load screen in Beatmaker scroll as you select the sample so you can see the end of the text string that Noise.io saved the file as.

Keep up the great work!!
