Here is an explanation of why I referred to your post as 'trollish'

You replied to this thread by saying:

    @vov said:
"Even the so called stable version which is almost a year old is buggy and unstable, so yeah, it probably would take an eon to release the next update. "

    Here's my take:
You are re-stating several known facts to draw attention and cause discord, and you are also casting aspersions about the developers' abilities. Adding a smiley just confirms this as trollish (trouble-making) behaviour.

You have not contributed anything constructive to this conversation, you know (full well) there is an active beta currently in process AND you have been very politely warned about writing inflammatory comments here on the forum.

I stated that that the current version is buggy and often unstable and despite that has had no changes since November. There’re numerous reports of that and no action on them since November. What more a common user can contribute in this situation? The smiley was directed at dude who were talking about some guarantees. Do we need written guarantees to receive a stable app from AppStore? Don’t you see a sad irony in that? No trolling was implied.

Rest-assured everyone that uses BM3 cares very much about stability. None of us are 'happy' about occasional crashes. All of us on the beta team are trying very hard to pinpoint particular actions, or sequences of actions, that cause BM3 to become unstable or crash.

But we also understand that the more complex an app becomes, the higher the chance there is of bugs and/or crashes. Additionally, we have learnt that older iPads (particularly those with lower RAM) are much more likely to crash than Pro models, or base/Air models released in the last 2 years.

If you're experience crashes, either frequently or infrequently, have you tried identifying possible causes? Have you posted any suspected bugs here on the forum? What iPad/iOS version are you using? Are you aware of the situations that are more likely to lead to instability/crashes?

Just going to remind everyone that we are all on the same team here and that we ALL want the same thing. :)

The amount of passive aggressive comments, derogatory remarks, complaining, threatening, in-fighting, trolling, whining, and general rude, public fussing about - does nothing to help the situation.

Yes, I posted several crashes and contacted Intua directly when it worked that way.
I assure you that my latest 2018 Pro model is unstable as anything else, or even more.
As I wrote, I experienced much instability mostly working with Auv3s, so I assume it’s more of an issue with utilization of multi core processing, but I’m not a specialist. In fact, I’d very much like to hear the developer’s opinion on why iPads underperform intel based laptops by so much, while charts show the superiority of their latest processors over i7s.

Do you feel better for getting that off your chest @Quazzemodo ?

The beta is in full swing, you could have requested to join in, and the update will be ready when we've tested it properly.

Do you really think posting angry demands will make anything better??

To answer ya question yes I do feel better and those weren’t demands it was the truth . I understand Rome wasn’t built in a day but you don’t find it odd that we’re waiting on features years later from when they were first announced? This app had 3 updates within the first year of release and it dwindled down to one the following year and now it’s basically in limbo because Mathieu Garcia took a step back and had more things to focus which I don’t fault him for , but ever since he stepped out of the picture you can’t tell me Intua hasn’t been on one hell of a slippery slope from the outside looking in.. I wish them nothing but success though I just said step it up and that’s all I meant

  • If an update is coming then I'm looking forward to it. That said I just started back on the laptop so a bit more relaxed about when it comes.

Lol. No I keep my new laptop firmly under dry weather!!

  • Just to bring some good vibes. BM3 has been game changing for my IOS workflow and is one of the most stable production apps I own. It does a lot more than most apps that I would consider more stable. I have a 2018 Pro and my experience is pretty on par with what I dealt with on Ableton as far as stability. Gotta save often. Basically I am excited for the update but I am happy with what I’ve got now.

  • Thanks for the positive vibes @adwin7

    I'm with you :+1:

  • Hello, when the update will be Release ?

Can’t talk about anything until @vincent says it’s ok. Sorry.

  • Any word if this update will include MIDI clock support and or Bluetooth MIDI support?

Just sold my NI Maschine to go with BM3 just to discover it’s not clockable with my hardware (sans an unwieldy work around method with less than awesome results) Thanks!

  • edited September 2019

All I say is "stay tuned" @r3kl355 - we all know how important MIDI clock is to many users and we are working closely with the developer to see what is possible for the next update.

As for bluetooth midi - it has been supported right from the start (version 3.0.1)

I thought BM3 had Bluetooth MIDI support... or maybe I’m misunderstanding ‘Bluetooth MIDI’ support?

  • It does have Bluetooth midi support, I’ve been using my nanokey studio with bm3 for a while now and it has worked fine..

    Sounds promising, great!

On Bluetooth MIDI support, my mistake, it does indeed. Sorry!

I did notice however that my BT MIDI device isn’t seen by BM3 or the MIDI Link Sync app unless I open Garage Band and connect to it that way. Then it appears in BM3. GB seems the only app that can open the ‘Portal’ for me. But I am running an iOS 13 beta so that may have something to do with it.

    Cheers.

  • I’m on 12.3.1

  • Looking forward to the update! Despite the issues I've had with BM3 over the last year, I use it daily and enjoy it. Many thanks to the beta testers putting in time on the new release. It's appreciated.

  • Please add Beatwarping for the update and make a man happy! ;)

I think you're referring to warp markers (as introduced by Ableton), since bm3 is already fully equipped to do 'beat warping' with slices and time stretch.

Warp markers were, in my opinion, introduced as a quick and dirty way of fixing the timings of bad session musicians. Although it's possible to use them creatively on drum loops, most serious beat specialists wouldn't dream of using this technique and risk transient smearing on their best breakbeats.

That's a long way of saying "all the tools you need to make the dopest beats are already included in bm3"

    @The_Bro

Watch this, it's a great video explaining warp markers in Ableton, and also demonstrates some of the 'risks' of using it on drums

...and I should also say that several of these techniques can be 'recreated' in bm3 with a little patience and effort.

Mm I don't know @tk32 all I know is Beatwarping in Ableton works a treat and is easy. Every in Beatmaker 3 to get the same result is too time consuming that's why its needed. Sorry gonna have to disagree on this one.
