The "Main" track - what is it?

edited September 2015 in Support
I mean it is there, I can create new ones, but what is it for?
I know, the "instrument" main is something like a container for overall effects, but what is the track for?

What I basically would expect:

- it reflects everything, that is not related to single instruments

This means (examples):

1. you can record and edit track on/off events (the speaker icon in each track) in one go there (my most important demand)
2. You can put tempo changes there (I know, this isn't possible in BM2, but nevertheless i would expect it)
3. you can see/edit anything recorded from the mixer view, when recording from it

What I observe (correct me, if I'm wrong):

1. Never ever there is something written in the main track
2. I can create more "main" tracks
2. I can paint patterns there, but what to do with them?
3. The mixer volume movements are stored in "track volume" of the corresponding track (means produces chaos in repeating patterns, but that's another discussion) although the "main" track would would be the best choice to put those events to

Just to be sure not being misunderstood, I really want to know, what it is for and what I can use it for! Because what I observe doesn't make any sense to me. At least from my experiences from life and other sequencers...
