A couple of questions before I buy
Hi,
I'm looking for a sample playback device which I can use on stage for playing sound FX, song intros, music between songs etc. I don't need any type of sequencing, just replay triggered by me. I play keyboards, so this would be an addition to my usual keys rig.
I've read the manual, but I can't find the answers to these:
1) What's the maximum audio duration of a wav file which can be attached to one of the sample pads?
2) I see that recordings made with the app are mono, but if I import my own stereo file, will it replay in stereo from a single pad?
3) During a complete set I might need access to more than 16 samples. Is there a facility to quickly switch between 2 or 3 different 16-pad sets? I could limit this action to places where I didn't need to replay any samples, if that helps.
4) How's the performance? Does it ever glitch or drop out if you try to do too much at once?
Many thanks <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) -->

Here are answers to your questions :
1) On iPod Touch 1G, 2G, iPhone 2G, 3G : 35MB
On iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G, iPad (yet to be confirmed) : 100MB
This is also the general memory limit for samples in RAM.
2) Yes, stereo files are played in stereo. You even pan control.
3) Unfortunately, not yet !
4) Drop outs can happen (and even less on newer devices), if you make very very complicated patterns on thousands of tracks.
So, in 95%, that won't happen, but you can easily test it out before your live set.
Also, we strongly suggest to activate airplane mode while playing live !
Hope this helps,

Re question 1) - is the 100MB per sample pad, or per the whole application total? I have more than 100MB in total, but I could find a way to limit or loop the longer files so that they are less sizeable. (I presume the app can offer seamless looping)?
