Genuinely a bit cross!
I don't like complaining and especially about a product as good as this but I feel the need to voice my opinion - regardless.
I've just received an email announcing a price drop from £11 to £6!! Of course it doesn't mean much to me because I already have it. So why do I need to know that others are now getting it for half the price? I understand that there are many more superb music apps than there were when this app came out and the competition has forced the price drop but please - throw us a bone here! I've been a loyal follower from the minute this app appeared(almost) don't I deserve some incentive? A special sample pack, free tickets to the cup final(ok, going too far) anything.
Just my little gripe since you took the time to send me an email that gives me nothing!

My first reaction was ofcourse "damn thats cold"
but after a minte of thinking, I think it's actually awesome in a lot of ways.
Yes, we spent ten more dollars then what people are now, but like you, I'm more than happy I bought Beatmaker when I did, because 10 dollars more is nothing compared to the hundreds I wouldve had to drop on an mpc. Especially since I'm new to producing, I can now move from being solely about beatmaker to now learning ableton, keeping BM extremely handy ofcourse. Also my brother who also wants to give BM a try(13 years old, no money) can now afford it. To top it off more people will get involved and that means more kits being made, more feedback, more collaboration, and more music to listen to.
So yeah, it stung for a minute, but I dont feel we deserve anything really. And besides, this will expand the market for BM, therefore giving Intua more profit, which I'm having good faith they will see as a reason to continue developing BM and maybe make new compatible applications.
Just my perspective.
is the price dropping down because of a lack of success or is it because of a real big success and because the philantropic part of you want to spread the product all over the musician and iphone-addict people of the world?
If this comes to be the last answer, I'm glad!!
Is it?
Fair point from your perspective but I've been through a lot of DAWs(including Ableton) and run a small studio so I look at the investment from more of a business angle. Beat Maker, Music Studio and ThumbJam are more than fun toys for me. Thumbjam is still cheaper than Beatmaker and Music studio isn't over priced in my opinion but much cheaper then BM was. Benaben talks of philanthropy but I suspect the awareness of competition is the primary reason. There has been good development of this product and I'm grateful but the price drop suggests Intua enjoyed quite a profit margin and as a contributor to that margin I wouldn't say no to some freebies!
On the music studio note, is that app any good? I hear too much contraversy in order to make a decision on it.
Stay up.
And yes, this is true in a way. When i take time to go learn Ableton at my cousin's house im overloaded with its capabilities. I guess it takes some getting used to lol.
And yes! This morning i was thinking the same thing! Spent all 1st period on my itouch "studio" and my battery was cut down to a quarter of life lol.
Thinking about buying those cases that charge on the fly.
Stay up bro.
