CS2 skin trading is something I got into pretty recently. Still figuring out how pricing works because the same skin can vary a lot depending on condition and pattern index.
Pattern index trips up a lot of people at first. Spent way too long ignoring it and ended up overpaying for a few knives before someone pointed it out. Float value matters just as much once you start dealing with higher tier items
Both of those took me a while to understand properly as well. Made a few expensive mistakes early on just by rushing trades without checking the right details. Knife skins especially have so many variables that affect price that going in without preparation usually ends badly. Found a breakdown here that covers everything from float values and pattern indexes to spotting offers that are not worth taking. Also goes into the safety side which matters a lot when you are dealing with anything above a certain price range. Went back to it a couple of times before bigger trades and it helped me avoid at least two deals that looked fine on the surface but had something off about them
