I know this is O/T, but you guys just have to check this out. It is for "crappy" Nintendo DS-10...
I would LOVE app like that on iPhone and would not hesitate even for a second to pay $80 for it, but is iPhone even capable of running apps like that?
BTW; Application developed by KORG http://www.aqi.co.jp/product/ds10/en/index.html

While it looks good, it also looks like a confusing mess. But it looks like a different type of program than Beatmaker.

mehhhhh.... Is it even multi timbral? I'm good with BeatMaker. I'd rather have an mini MPC in my hands instead of a slimmed down mono/polyphonic version of Reason...

    Just my $.02

Hey JRK, have You even watched that utube clip? Because if You did, You would never ask the question "Is it even multi timbral?"...
OF COURSE IT IS and let's face it - KORG DS-10 makes BeatMaker (as good as it is) look like boom-chuk, boom,boom-chuk drum toy.

I think the Korg thing looks good. Presently there are a lot more Gameboys than iphones an it uses the Gameboy wireless. I use the Legasey collection alot on my pc and this seems to be a very striped down version of that with a few other bells and whistles. That said I am a big korg fan and am excited to see this thing. It has taken a long time for them to even try to do something like this, so it is ambitious. With their micro contollers, mini kaos, 1 bit recorders and some other rumored products I think they have a ambitious program going on right now that is thinking along the lines of a lot of what is going on in performance and in the clubs and that is great.

Beatmaker is so much fun and I am just begining to be able understand and gett some great musical things from it. It is very useful, musical and I know that it is not a toy that I will outgrow quickly but a tool that is so versital I will be getting more into it as I bring in more of my own samples (from live performance) to do arrangements. It is also well designed to get at the music and not be held back a badly though out interface.

The great thing is that I have lots of time where I use this on the fly anywhere anytime and can be productive and compose at times that I would otherwise be wasteing. The Wifi file transfer to and from computer is brilliant.

I am looking forward to upgrades and inprovements but am very happy at this point.

I think that it might be nice to see Intua make another product that would allow for overdubing synth stuff onto the Beatmaker exported tracks. By having a seperate app they could go full out like with beatmaker. If you could output the overdub as a seprate track or bring it all back to a third app (on the computer or phone) where you could load all the midi or wave tracks mix and add effects.

I think to make a swiss army knife application for the phone would reach the point of overtaxing the phone and reduce what is presently a amazing level of responsiveness. It would also defeat the purpose of having a sample player as opposed to a virtual synth.

Besides I would like to give Intua another $20 as I think inovation and independent development should be rewarded. With Beatmaker I have gotten more enjoyment than anything software-wise for $20 I can think of.

Hahaha. I shall take my $.02 off the table for not watching the whole clip . I watched the first minute of it and was like, mehhhh!

A lot of the music I make is sample driven. Sorry for offending thy almighty KORG .

When Ableton releases an iPhone app, it will be all over (until something cooler comes out).

I think, the BeatMaker is just the perfect companion for the Korg DS 10 and vice versa.

Actually i bought an iPod Touch solely for using it with BeatMaker and the Korg DS 10 to be able to create music on the go w/o the need to carry a laptop around.

The DS 10, as great as it is (amazing, everybody should give it a try!) has very limited space to save data and the resulting limited amount of tracks (6) and limited amount of bars/cycles (100) per session is just not enough to create a song, let alone that I´ve already filled all banks to save sounds and patterns.

The recording feature in the upcoming BeatMaker update is the missing part to be really independend from a laptop on the go. Thanks for adding that!
