Clearing out an old woodworking workshop

My husband got really into woodworking during retirement and somehow turned our spare room into a miniature workshop. After a few years, he upgraded his equipment, leaving behind old shelves, damaged workbenches, leftover materials, and several bulky pieces he no longer uses. We finally agreed to reclaim the room and turn it into a guest bedroom before our grandchildren visit. How do people usually deal with this amount of accumulated workshop stuff without making multiple trips themselves?
