FileZilla Is NOT Working

edited March 2011 in Support
I am unable to connect my iTouch to FileZilla or WinSCP when trying to import samples. I looked up the Beat Maker 2 user manual and followed it's instructions exactly, and am still unable to connect.

I enter the host IP BM2 gives me, then user-intua and pass-intua. It does not work. On FileZilla it times out over and over, in WinSCP "The Host Does Not Exist"

I was able to connect via BeatPack for BM 1, but I'm not sure how relevant that is or is not to my current situation. Help on the matter would be appreciated

Are you putting the last 4 numbers of the ip adress after the colon in the [PORT] box?

Not at first, but then I tried doing so and still no luck. I'm thinking it's more about my connection than error because I've tried multiple times in both FileZilla and WinSCP. I have followed Intua's directions precisely.

Ok... One more thing.. Did you make sure the colon is completely removed? Make sure it's not left after the ip number and not before the port number... No colon.. If not, make sure you're device's wifi is turned on and connected.. I know this sounds obvious, but sometimes it's the simplest things that get in the way....

Actually in FZ, you can just put it all in the IP bar. It recognizes that the colon seperates the port number and does it for you.
Im thinking sept is right. Its somethin simple. Check your firewall n such.

Okay I've never had to deal with firewall before so I am pretty ignorant about it. How do I fool around with the settings? I've looked it up before but never really got it.

And yes, the wi-fi is working

I too had this same problem. When I first downloaded filezilla it worked but has not since then. I had to uninstall filezilla then reinstall, that seemed to work for me. Also CAB you might want to add filezilla to your firewalls list of exceptions. If you're using windows you can access the panel, windows firewall, change settings, exceptions then add program. That helped me. and if it still has issues, try deleting the reinstalling filezilla. Hope this helps.

Hey, I was having the same problem until I realized that my iPhone was actually connected to a different wi-fi network. It pays to double check.

Hope this helps

CAB77 - did you ever get this working. I've the same problem. Nothing seems to fix it, so would love to hear other ideas out there.

I've tried multiple FTP editors with no luck. Firewall is open, still no luck. Beatmaker1 connects via BeatPck fine. This is just a Beatmaker 2 problem. I'm getting close to ditching this app.

PLEASE HELP !!!!

1.Your iPhone/iPad has to actually be open on the file transfer page while you are accessing from your computer, or it won't make the connection.

2. The ip address changes almost every time I open the file transfer page, so having a bookmark in the ftp client isn't an option.

Pretty finicky, but it does work. Dropbox would be a little more elegant

Hope this helps.
• Are you on restricted public wifi? Thats what I think my problem was all weekend .......

I'm having no luck here at all. I cant believe I'm going to have to rewrite an entire album in Music Studio or something similar and dump Beatmaker after all this hard work. Wasted time and money

Music Studio certainly looks like it gets around the FTP problems BM2 provides as a free feature in its latest version.

It works ,you have to go through all the steps to make sure you did it right:
1. Push the File Transfer (tab it is the fourth icon)
2. Choose file transfer ( it won't connect until it is pressed.)
3. Connect to the FTP server by putting the exact ip address shown/ put intua in the next tab / then intua again
4. Push connect and it should work fine.
You are missing 1 or more of these steps!!!
Example:

123.456.1.2:4646 /( next tab.) intua /( next tab.) intua / don't worry about the empty tab /then press connect!!!
IP address
Login.
Password.
empty tab
Connect button

If you can't sign on after that it's your computer not the FTP server or BeatMaker 2
never be afraid to ask for help, I want you to not give up so easily!!!
This forum is made so we can help each other!!!

I was having this same problem. I'm using a mac, but what solved it for me was going into my iPhone settings, turning off wifi, and then turning it back on again. seemed to wake it up or something. Also, I found cyberduck way easier then firezilla cause I could just drag and drop

Hello all. Thank you for helping me out.

I have gotten it to work now,but I'm not sure how! You see, I've recently upgraded from iTouch to iPhone; iPhone worked on the first try, iTouch, to my knowledge, still doesn't work.

At least it's working at all now.

Thank you for all the help!
