Does Beatmaker 2 work with Ipad2?

edited May 2011 in Support
Hi,

This is my first post to the forum. I bought BM 2 when it came out, but I was waiting for iPad 2 and just installed it. I cant get past the start-up screen. I tried to start with a new song using the drum machine or keyboard but it crashes. I tried to load a demo tune but it crashes. I've reinstalled the app 2 x's and done several complete restarts for the iPad. I turned off push notifications just in case, and 0 apps are running in the background when I launch BM 2. I didn't see the solution/fix in the manual or on the forum.

Am I missing something, or is the program not running on the iPad 2? Thanks for any help re: this that you can give. I'm ready to get started and this is frustrating start!

Ok, sounds like the new model might be the problem. Hopefully Intua will weigh in on the issue soon!

if there's a prob, its gotta be an ios 4.3 problem and not an ipad 2 problem.

Not so, I have an iPad 1 with iOS 4.3 installed and iPad 2 with 4.3 and it works fine on the iPad 1 but not iPad 2.

Any new info yet?

BM2 is "faulty" because Intua did not bother to release Universal (iPad compatible) version to begin with
The promised iPad update - "coming soon" is still coming and probably will be "coming soon" for the few more months to come
PS; did I mentioned NO CORE MIDI support in BM2?!

HOPEFULLY INTUA GETS BUGS FIXED IMMEDIATELY.

Sorry, I should have posted an update.... Intua emailed me and said that they're trying to get their hands on an iPad 2 so that they can test it. Sounds like they got stuck in the middle on this one since they couldn't get a test unit in advance. Looks like they'll be doing beta testing soon.

I hope this doesn't drag on and on. BM2 looks great and I'm ready to dig in! The main reason I got the iPad 2 was for music apps. Fortunately, I'm kind of a music app junkie, so I'll have to keep busy with my other apps for now.

I hope they go head and update the iPad Screen Res all in one shot on this next update.

This fix should be priority for iPad 2 users....specially at $19.99...which I think is a good price for a great app..but I can't do anything.....BeatMaker 1 works fine on iPad 2.....come on intua get up on the update...pronto

You too?!! Lol. I have not heard a word since I received an email promising a beta copy last week. Like I said in my original post, Intua is in a tough position with this one. The US launch of the Ipad 2 saw sales of over a million units before selling out. That is a lot of potential new customers who cannot currently use their software and a lot of existing customers such as us who can't use software we have already paid for.

The one good thing for me is that I started learning more about Nanostudio's features and it is rock solid on all IOS devices. The upcoming updates will make it even better. Their developer is very responsive and active on their forums. That is good news for all of us. Competition is indeed a healthy thing:)

Bought this app almost exclusively for my ipad 2. Very disappointing it isn't working at the moment, I hope they can resolve this issue asap.

I received a beta from Intua as promised. It now works on the Ipad 2!! I'm not sure what their timeframe is but it should be submitted to the App. Store soon. I'm a very happy camper now:)

For cratedigging sampleheads such as me, Beatmaker 2 is a dream come true!

Hi,

The iPad 2 issue has been addressed and a critical update is being sent to Apple. It will hopefully be available in a few days.

Thank you for your patience,
Intua Team.

Has the code been sent to apple yet?
• edited 11:08AM
I ask because you say "critical update is BEING sent to Apple," so just clarifying, and want to know if its been sent by now. Thanks!

What is the expected time of arrival for the updated resolution for BM2 on Ipad 2? Sorry for being so needy. Big ups for fixing the ipad 2 issue!

It's working well for me too. I've been running BM2 on the ipad 2 for a few hours (played all the demos, made a track with 5 parts and some effects, jumped in and out of BM2 to check email and look at web.) So far, no crashes. (I'm pretty obsessive about saving, but it always sucks to crash out in the middle of writing!) Right now, I'm using Filezilla to FTP a track I'm building in Logic. So far, all's good...

Looking forward to native iPad version (even if it doesn't have any new features). I don't have the best eyesight, and using 2x for apps always makes me work a little harder.

Intua, you kicked A** with this new version of BM!

Got my ipad2 today
Getting ready to try out the update!

Looking forward to better resonant filters...(hint)
Additional effects with a tidbit deeper control
Maybe some formant/pitch/time on the keyboard
Keyboard sampler having a few more synth parameters
And a piece of software that works better than filezilla, cuz that sucks butt.
And some magic apple velocity???
Core midi for my soon coming studiodock pro

Thats all ya need and its a wrap...
