Is there something you can do? If you are a developer with Intua, then yes. Fix iPad 2 compatibility or share the source code with me.
I dont know that garageband would be that bad, especially compared to multitrack DAW or portastudio, or monle, or studio HD. I have multitrack DAW which I like very much, but it does not have much in the way of effects. Also I cant see apple adopting audio copy and paste (even though they really should... everyone should), but for many uses I dont necessarily need audio copy and paste if I can export to my itunes library on my device. Garageband is very reasonable in price when compared to other apps,.. another problem is garageband is ipad only, I usually stay clear of ipad only apps unless they have something extra fancy or are very reasonably priced. Universal apps are my preference.
Biggest question about garageband IMO is; Does garageband work with irig? if so I think its probably work the cost, if you have to buy the 99$ guitar adapter, then no it might not be worth the cost.
i am an iPhone dev with the iPad 2, maybe they cant get their hands on one? maybe their efforts/funds are allocated elsewhere?
it was a suggestion
Last time i played with Garageband it felt more like it was geared more for podcasting and putting together loops from the library. then again it was over 3 years ago when i touched it last..
then yeah I think its worth 5$ if you dont have a DAW. It does not have many effects, but it has a few good effects from what I understand. The instruments in garageband are garbage, but I would probably be using it mainly to be recording from nanostudio or NNN mono and apps like that, not as a sequencer or using those simplified auto-instruments.
Thank you for reporting this problem to us. At the moment the iPad 2 hasn't been released in our location (Europe), but we will try to get one as soon as possible. We will be contacting some of you privately (who own an iPad 2) to provide beta versions of BM2 in order to fix the problem asap.

Thanks for the update re: this problem. (I posted about the same problem in another thread.) I'm available to try out the beta and would like to try it out. Hopefully the problem can be resolved soon. I'm ready to get going with BM2!
I'd be willing to test with a shiny new iPad 2 and I'll even be back to europe in a couple days
