BIG CHOP PROBLEM
PROBLEM: I CHOP A SAMPLE INTO MANY PIECES, FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS CLOSELY AGAIN AND AGAIN IN AN ATTEMPT TO HAVE MY NEWLY CHOPPED PIECES LAID OUT ACROSS MULTIPLE PADS. ALL THAT HAPPENS IS MY FINAL CHOPPED PIECE ENDS UP SPREAD ACROSS EVERY SINGLE PAD. MEANING THE SAME EXACT SOUND. ON EVERY SINGLE PAD, OR AT LEAST ON AS MANY PADS AS I HAVE ASSIGNED CHOPS. THE IDENTICAL SOUND. I'VE ATTEMPTED IT SO MANY TIMES WITH FILES OF ALL TYPES, SIZES, ETC. WITH THE SAME END RESULT, AND I'VE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROCESS ON THIS VERY MESSAGE BOARD.
IT SUCKS BECAUSE THIS FEATURE WAS THE MAIN SELLING POINT FOR ME TO EVEN GET THIS PROGRAM. I'M SURE MANY OTHER SERIOUS MUSICIANS AND LIFELONG MPC USERS CAN AGREE THAT THE FIRST EDITION OF BEATMAKER WAS PRETTY MUCH A JOKE (STOCK SOUND HIP-HOP FOR THE STREETS SON!). IT SEEMS LIKE YOU GUYS LISTENED TO A LOT OF THE CRITICISMS AND REALLY TRIED TO MAKE PART 2 THE REAL DEAL, AND IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE INCREDIBLE, BUT THIS PROBLEM HAS GOT TO BE FIXED. IT'S SO SO SO HUGE.

Your name suggests you are an asshole,
Btw
1. Record sample into device, and or import sample from itunes etc.
2. Cut out anypart of the sound you will not be chopping and save
3. Next touch the choplab under the wavefile menu screen
4. Pick the appropriate sample
5. Select to autochop, or make chop decisions yourself
6. When satisfied with chopping press the x in the upper left corner
7. It will ask if you want to save this as a kit say yes
8. There will be an options prompt pick what ya like
9. Load kit into patch load in drum machine...Not the wave file load (this is what i believe you have maybe done wrong)
Eat crow, have fun sample chopping
ONE MORE THING-YOU SAY IN STEP 2, "CUT OUT ANY PART OF THE SOUND YOU WILL NOT BE CHOPPING AND SAVE". CAN THAT BE DONE IN BM2, OR DO I NEED TO CHOP OUT THOSE EXCESS PARTS OF THE SONG BEFOREHAND, LIKE IN A DIFFERENT PROGRAM? FOR EXAMPLE-I HAVE A SONG FROM MY ITUNES THAT IS 6 MINUTES LONG. I LOAD THE SONG INTO BM2. NOW, THERE IS A 30 SECOND PIECE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG THAT I WANT TO CHOP INTO 32 PIECES. I HAVE NO USE FOR ANY OF THE REST OF THE SONG-I DON'T WANT IT ON ANY PADS, I DON'T WANT IT TAKING UP VALUABLE MEMORY, I WANT TO ONLY BE DEALING WITH THE PARTS I NEED. WHAT'S THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO DEAL WITH THIS SITUATION? AS OF RIGHT NOW, WHEN I CHOP SOMETHING, THE FINAL PAD OF MY CHOPS JUST PLAYS THE ENTIRE REST OF THE SONG! HOW DO I "TRIM THE FAT"?
AND ANOTHER THING- IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO BACK AND FINELY ADJUST THE START AND END POINTS OF PIECES THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN CHOPPED AND LAID OUT ON PADS, A LA "TRIM MODE" ON AN MPC? OR DOES HOW YOU INITIALLY CHOP IT HAVE TO BE THE FINAL SAY? IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU COULD CONSTANTLY ADJUST THOSE WHILE YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF LAYING DOWN A TRACK, BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE THINGS AROUND QUICKLY ON THE FLY AS IDEAS DEVELOP OFF OF OTHER IDEAS. IF HAVE TO RE-CHOP YOUR ENTIRE SECTION INTO PIECES AGAIN JUST TO ADJUST THE BEGINNING POINT OF ONE CHOP WITHIN THE SECTION, THAT IS REALLY LAME.
I KNOW I MAY BE ASKING SOME PRETTY BASIC QUESTIONS, BUT SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS TO ADMIT THAT THE MANUAL ONLY COVERS THE BASICS OF THE BASICS. AND YOUTUBE DOESN'T YET HAVE MANY TUTORIALS ABOUT DIFFERENT SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM. THANKS!
