Can Anyone At All Hook Us Up With Some Daft Punk Samples. Preferably The "Work It" Song. I Loved Watching People On You Tube Playing Around With It via The Moocow Drummer App... Hopefully Somebody Out There Has The Goods. Thanks A Mill!
As another Daft Punk fan I agree! But what's to stop you getting hold of Audacity or somthing and making your own? Than way you'll get exactly what you want
Okay, so I DLed Audacity and I'm having the worst time trying to get the samples I need from the Harder, Faster, Stronger song. I didn't realize what a pain this can be... Any words of advice?
What sort of computer do you have? More importantly, what sort of budget?
If you have a relatively new iMac you probably have Garageband on it. This might be easier than Audacity. If not look for SoundStudio (on some Macs or via a download) or Amadeus (also a download). Neither of these are free, but I find them easier to use than Audacity.
If you are rolling in cash try a beat slicer, such as ReCycle from Propellerheads. This is very powerful, and was originally used to prepare samples for "proper" hardware samplers! It's not cheap though.
If you are on a PC there are similar apps out there, including ReCycle
I'm still having a crappy time getting the samples to work... All I get are errors. I'm trying to do a remix of Areodynamic and Harder Faster Stonger, and even maybe throw in some Around The World. It's just giving me nothing but headaches and wasted time. I even tried recycle, but recycle wont even recognize MP3s. Man, I wonder if it's my Vista. Can anyone make some samples for me? Thanks...
Select "Export selection as wav" in the "File" menu
Just make sure the wavs are 16 bit at 44.100Hz.
You can make settings for that in Audacity under "Edit" -> "Preferences":
set sample rate in the "Quality" tab, and set WAV (Microsoft 16 bit PCM) in the "File Formats" tab.
Drop the samples onto pads in BeatPack, then click "Create kit", then upload to iphone/itouch.
Look for these:
"Cola Bottle Baby" by Edwin Birdsong (original sample for Harder, Faster, Stronger, whatever)
"Release the Beast" by Breakwater (Robot Rock)
If you've never heard either you'll see just how much DF bites to make their music - it's pretty much all just re-edits. Not that I don't like what they do...
Plus, you'll have more fun chopping those up and putting your own beats behind them than just working with what Daft Punk has already done.
brainphreak could you please load a daft punk kit onto your server?
and maybe one of those snoop ones from the old drummer app... I like messing around with those kits.
Beatpack doesnt work for me for some reason, so if you could load these up for me that would be great. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
Do I just upload the bmkz file for everyone to use or do I need to zip up the entire project I made (wav files and all) I hope it's only the bmkz files because that's all I kept.
i have harder better faster stronger. and its cool cause the way my friend and i set it up is that i also have Kanye's Stronger loops too. but i have no idea how to share or give. thats the hard part for me sadly. lol
Theres an acapella version of HBFS floating around on the net. There's also a multitrack version of technologic.. Both you could easily edit and put onto the pads for beatmaker. I have both, but they're not cut up just yet.
This looks like a cool sample. I ran across BeatMaker as I saw a Daft Punk\Kanye West Video of the Grammys. When they showed the inside of the pyramid, got a glimpse of the Lemur sequencers used for the shoot. Thought, there has to be something for my Touch like this to play around with, and here I am.....
I have not bought it yet, but is there a place I can go to check out samples and other stuff to download?

HTH (a bit!)
Open a Daft Punk track in Audacity
Select a part you want to use as sample,
Select "Export selection as wav" in the "File" menu
Just make sure the wavs are 16 bit at 44.100Hz.
