FX bus enables you to apply the same effects to multiple instruments or drum machine pads at the same time. It can also be useful to reduce the number of effects and thus use less CPU processing power (for example, having a single reverb for all your instruments).
From the Mixer view, you can select where each of your instrument is going to output its sound: to the MAIN output, or any of your FX bus.

Awe thank you i was going to ask this question! Its hard to understand in the Manual, as i was only looking on the FX bus page. 44. Doesn't mention the Mixer part. ---Thank you this helps.
