clublime - BeatMaker01 (Electronica)

edited August 2008 in BeatMakers Showcase
Hi, first let me introduce myself.
I'm Emil Korngold from Utrecht, the Netherlands.
I like making music in my spare time, mostly electronic.

This is the first track I've done with BeatMaker and I'm really impressed with what it can do!

Some live performed delay effects, track recorded in one take using Audacity.

The samples I've used are from a Mutakki Vengeance sample CD: Club Essentials volume 1.
It sells for about 80 euro on eBay and I highly recommend it, it has everything you need. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Below you'll find the production itterations from this track.

Added more variation to the main synth, improved song build-up and overall pacing,
balanced out the track mix. Next step I'll try and merge some tracks to new samples,
then use the freed up pads to lay down some more tracks.

Last itteration in BeatMaker. There were only two tracks I could resample to one,
so I could only add one more sample track. I guess running into these kind of limitations was inevitable. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->
Next steps will be taken using PC software. I'll post up the final mix when it's done.
Probably will be adding some more tracks, fx, and finally some vocals.

Hope you like. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    Wicked...easily the best beat I have heard posted so far, including my own <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    Do you have a website?

    Hi there, thanks for the compliment. Appreciated! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    My personal site is
    http://www.clublime.com

    I don't have any music on it though, it's my portfolio site. I'm a Flash developer for a living.
    I have some links to other stuff I made, but that's all non-BeatMaker material.
    Usually I work with a Roland MC-303, a Korg KAOSS Pad 3, a microphone, and Audacity to mash things up.

    The song is work in progress and I work on it while commuting from and to work.
    I'll post up a new revision as soon as I'm happy with it! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    Sounds really good man,
    I had alot of questions actually about beat maker. I finally got my Ip address to work and just started messing around with the program.

    Still having a hard time placing my patterns down onto my Sequencer. I know how to lay then down. But as far as saving and making the tracks longer I'm still a little confused <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->
    Do you happen to have any advice or tips for me?

    Thanks

    Thanks! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    The answers to all of your questions can be found here:
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.intua.net/downloads/BeatMaker_UsersManual-1.0.1.pdf">http://www.intua.net/downloads/BeatMake ... -1.0.1.pdf</a><!-- m -->

    I suggest you print and read it. It's pretty straight forward in explaining how things go down in BeatMaker.
    Good luck!
