clublime's feature requests and bug reports
First of all, thank you for creating this great piece of software.
Commuting never was so much fun, keep up the good work. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
This post will contain bugs I've found and features I wish for in upcoming versions of BeatMaker.
I'll just edit when something new comes up.

When the iPhone goes into sleep mode, playback gets jittery. This doesn't come in handy when you create something and want to listen back to it a few times to judge your track. Also, when using the app. live, you have to keep the screen active or your performance is going to get ruined.[/list:u]
-
Groove and velocity being applied to the overall sound in a pattern, as opposed to the one-hit approach being used now. I'd love an envelope-per-pattern so to speak, better yet a global envelope creator on the main timeline.[/list:u]
-
Easier way to navigate the timeline. When a song gets a 100+ measures long, it's a long way to scroll! This could be resolved by adding one or more of the following features: instead of having the entire screen available for scrolling, only use a small navigation strip at the top. This nav. bar could have a fit-to-screen-scaled timeline so you could also tap it to move to the required measure instantly. A goto-measure LCD, would work like the Bpm LCD (slide to navigate up or down the timeline)[/list:u]
-
Setting stereo panning, either globally on the timeline or in the pattern editor, or both.[/list:u]
-
Saving live performance "knobbing" done in the FX view.[/list:u]
-
Ability to insert in, and move patterns to any given height (i.e., I want to ellaborate or create a varience on a drum pattern, so I want my new pattern right under that drum pattern, not all the way at the bottom which makes me have to scroll up and down all the time.)[/list:u]
-
Ability to insert new pattern instances in between previously created instances. (I.e., for pattern 1, I want to insert a pauze between 1 and 2, which means 2 and everything after it has to move one measure to the right)[/list:u]
-
reduce the vertical height of pattern boxes on the timeline to reduce vertical scrolling and give a better overview[/list:u]
-
When saving a project, also save the start and endpoint settings of the timeline[/list:u]

Fun little app! My wishlist after playing for just a couple of hours (be gentle with me if I've misunderstood anything!)
Stereo panning, although I'm guessing this would halve the number of simultaneous sounds?
Exclusive mute groups - I was hoping that's what 'Mute Mode' would be about, but it obviously isn't. I really need to be able to set Open and Closed HHats to mute one another.
Triplet button for the Delay times. Current selection is a bit boring.
'Key' or 'Trigger' modes for each pad, so that you can choose to hold it for the full length, or play just a small portion of the sample. To me, having to hear a long loop play right through every time is a real passion-killer. I know this would create some extra work to fit this in with the Pattern Editor, but it would be well worth it IMO.
Filter module for the FX section.
A Saturation module.
That's all for now!
