iOS 5 breaks background functionality

edited October 2011 in Support
I updated (anxiously I must add) to iOS 5 today... Some great features... Yet I found it breaks beatmaker's background functions when the project gets a little big... If you go to background, audio still plays... But when you try to go back to bm2 the splash screen goes off and the project closes up... The exact same project (same settings) in earlier iOS version didn't do that... This is awful as Many times I switch to play some other synth and now I can't... Hopefully you guys (Intua) can resolve it, it's making me crazy.

Regards

Remember to be aware of, or disable iOS 5 'gestures' when playing synths etc.

Ummm every app i have has updated for ios5, except intua...
I cant agree with you on this

While you are in that code, is there anyway to add a render so that i dont wanna throw my ipad across the room when actually using your app on a record?

    Warning to new buyerz!
Beatmaker 2 might be a great app in the ipad/iphone, but here folks is what it really sucks at...and i mean sucks in the deepest sense.

    1. Building kits from samples that you have already is a pain in the ass... There is no functional editor on your pc/mac to build kits or maps and then zip them into a pack and send them to yourself or to friends or coworkers...so if you are using an ftp client i have tried 3 now and they all drop files all the time...it takes way longer than it should.

    2. If you finish a song in bm2 and you want stems...hahahahahaha better build a metronome, and get ready to solo mute your ass off while you enter everything in realtime...and then play line up the samplez on your daw...which takes a 3 minute process up to 4 hours to perform.

    3. Getting other samples in is a bitch as well...since beatmaker support effin soundcloud? Thats like making your shit support soundclick? What the hell? Email or dropbox? <---- i gotta give you a big old effin derrrrrr on this, this is fire somebody ish right here. Why am i waiting a year for this simple everyone has it but you feature? Why? To many pints eh?

    4. Why cant i correct text on patch naming fugg that is irritating!

    5. Bounce track with formats like mp3 (128,256,etc) wav or aif? Anyone?

    6. Wifi to daw transfer...i mean anything? At this point people will be excited for any of this shit!

Your app is not ready for the big leagues, it has import and export no real file sharing, no way to have sellable banks that is feasible, terrible daw transfer, EPIC FAIL....

The app is great, until you actually use it for somethng other than mobile entertainment.

Could we tone down a bit, lets keep the vibe good round here shall we?

So I need to be passive and get nothing accomplished then right?
I dont know if you are american, but the problem with everything here in america is this same passive notion.
Once a person turns the other cheek, it will spread, and there will be a line of people striking and beating that person untilthey die...being passive is ideal, but it will never gain ground in a devils world.

    But...
Here is a toned down vibe...

Please...Fix your import/output of files, your file tree (ios5 is a movement away from computer), project management and sharing...having to copu and paste thru three apps to put one single sample in bm2 is dumb. is it difficult to add email support for filesharing? Dropbox? I dont get it why does this take so long? I am no dev so i dont know.

Trying to get people to go thru a process to add stuff to your app by linking to a computer is the wrong direction for your app. Apple isnt moving this way...so why are you? There is a huge conflict in method here!

    Thank you,
    Smiley

Passive is one thing, rude is another. BTW, you don't get things accomplished regarding the app (except for your own music)... Intua does.

Working on complex code is harder than you can imagine. Just be patient.

Don't forget iCloud support.... I am getting more and more updates to apps that are adding iCloud... after all it is the future. I still have Dropbox installed, for now. But am already moving to iCloud.... it works great.

Gmail support is acceptable as well...maybe even sharing between ios devices perhaps as well?
Yall obviously havent tried sharing songs yet with other producers...SUCKS
