Midi, Camera Connector & Iphone

Does Beatmaker 2 work with the iphone via the camera connector? I bought the camera connector and getting the message it is not supported by the iphone?

    Only the iPad will accept MIDI via the Camera Connection Kit. Apple disabled the iPhone working with it awhile back.
