How to easily match loops with different bpms

edited August 2008 in General
lets say my song is at 120 bpm and i import a loop at 108 bpm.

does anyone know is there is some math that we could apply to know what should be the exact pitch values to apply so that they match perfectly??
for example if i add 2.03x to the 108 bpm then it will play at 120. (i am just making this out.)

i remember there was some math you could apply to delays to sync them but what about the beatmaker pitch?

right now i match them in loop mode but the pitch slider is hard to adjust when small values are required.

how are you doing this?

heres what i do: before you load sounds onto your pads in beatpack, open them with ACID Pro (for example) or w/e multi-track recording program or editor. open your loop/sample onto a track and make the tempo w/e you want and then save as: name of the file - replace or save seperatley. then load it onto your pad. so now you can make ALL of you samples/loops 87 - 92 - 97 w/e on the entire kit ! hope this helps.

Beatmaker has an feature designed for just this! Go to Pads->Edit->Tuning and adjust the scale to be "set 1b" with the + and - buttons, then press the "set 1b" button, voila <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
