Is Beatmaker's resolution 24ppqn? That's MIDI Clock standard, but unfortunately, not very fine. Most MPC's have 96 ppqn! I know BM2 isn't a DAW and all but is it out of the question to get a finer resolution in the Pattern Editor?
Hello Guvnah,
The BeatMaker2 sequencer has a 96 PPQN resolution.
You can change the resolution of the pattern editor grid within it.
You can also change the quantized recording resolution via the record settings panel.
Hmmm...when I zoom in the pattern editor I only count 24 ticks for each beat. That's why I figured it was 24 ppqn. Even with the quantize set to 1/96 I don't see more ticks when I'm zoomed in...
So I'm fairly certain you can't use the pattern editor down to adjust by he tick. When I've recorded without quantize and then opened the pattern editor I can often see midi notes hitting in between grid lines when the resolution is set to 1/96. This is pretty easy to see: record any random playing without quantize and check it out back in the pattern editor. The midi notes will be hitting inside the grid at 1/96. Shame you can't edit down to 1/96!
