BeatMaker on the Mac

edited August 2008 in General
Hi All,

I am having a lot of fun learning to use BeatMaker. I thought it would be cool to discuss Mac specifics here with other Mac users.

I have also started a http://www.macidol.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9379 discussion of Beatmaker at MacIDOL for members of MacIDOL to discuss BeatMaker too.

Also, there are some free samples for you all to download here: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.macidol.com/samples/">http://www.macidol.com/samples/</a><!-- m --> . These are all in 24Bit Aif format, but can easily be converted to WAV to create your own kits. I have created a kit from some of these samples, which you can download here:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.macidol.com/samples/MacIDOL-SampleBank.bmkz">http://www.macidol.com/samples/MacIDOL-SampleBank.bmkz</a><!-- m --> - Warning - 5.8MB File!

Here are a few Mac Specific suggestions that I would like to see in future versions of BeatMaker:

1 Apple Loop Export
2 BeatPack to support aif and Apple Loops too.</li>

So, how are you using BeatMaker and the Mac? Are you using it in conjunction with GarageBand or Logic?

    Sorry to say, but neither as well (as for JRK)...
    I use Cubase, Live and Reason.
    PS; I can't even recall launching Garage Band at all <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->
    BTW; Could be useful to create ringtones though... <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

    I use both Garageband and Logic 8. I have been waiting for a year for an iphone app that I can create sequences on, then finish the songs in Logic. I just found out about the midi export function. But I am still trying to get the sync to work with my mac laptop, which I use for peliminary sequencing and rough tracks before moving to my iMac for final production. This is cool for quick ideas on the go, which most songwriters know is when the best songs hit us. Of course you will still have to get the sync to match up with the soft instruments in GBand and Logic. Keep in touch.
