virtual midi useless?

edited October 2012 in Support
hey there,

i want to use sunrizer (or magellan)in backround mode with iSequence or Beatmaker 2 and it works without latency (playin the sequencers virtual keaboard)...until i record (or draw)some notes and press"play".The notes are set"tight"but the sound plays,at least 50ms later.That`s not all:it`s anything else but not tight/groovy.It`s shaky as hell...totally useless as it is.i tried different settings in both sequencers and synths but nothing helped.Any suggestions?

    Am i the only one trying to use different synths together with BM2?Nobody else having this issue?

    Next problem:i bought Fingers Bassline and try to sync it to BM2.The Bassline is getting the tempo from BM2 but won't start.Playin notes in the BM2 Sequencer=see above

    Again,i tried all possible (and impossible^^)settings but nothin worked...

    i like to talk to myself so i gotta continue:

    i made a test on two different iPads (1+2)and it seems the iPpad 1 is just to weak to play something like the sunrizer in background.i tested it with bm2 and sunrizer,only one track running(monophon).rest empty.No wifi nor bluetooth activated.medium latency (but high latency doesnt made a difference).The result on the ipad 1 was as descripted above and much better on the ipad 2.BUT even on the ipad 2 was a clear latency when playback midi notes.at least it plays back without the shaky timing.

    it seems the industrie (not only intua for sure)suggest (again)that more is possible than actually is.reminds me of old win98 times...
  • Hello CEIsar,

    Have you tried setting a lower MIDI latency, or even removing it?
    Cheers,
    Vincent.

    hi vincent,thanks for your response.i tried both,the default setting (50ms)and zero latency.doesnt make a difference.i dont get why i can play i.e.sunrizer live on bm's virtual keys without any latency (on both ipads) but when i record this and playback...fail.

    anyway,great product.very intuitiv and fast to work with.you got me (instead of nanostudio)with the latest update and the addition of importing audio trax. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

    Hey,

    I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your pain. I just tried the exact same thing as you describe on the iPhone 4 (see my forum thread), and I also get terrible timing / jitter. No replies to my post.

    The device is probably just too slow to get this right. Maybe on an iPhone 5 (4 times faster than iPhone 4) it's better - I'd love to see someone try it.
