intua: workflow improvements suggestions
hi,
like all of you - i find bm2 to be fantastic app.
however the workflow is key to music making and i think some polishing would be nice.
when recording midi - can we have fast instrument switching? the idea is that one lays down the drum loop and instantly can move to another instrument. there is enough screen room to enable this sort of option/menu. also fast undo or clear current pattern button.
if anyone has any improvement ideas - please put them in.
cheers,

I don't know if these have been mentioned but -
. Better keyboard for keyboard sampler:-
. An option to hide the pitch wheel - to use the full width of the iPad/iPhone. Samplewiz has one of the best keyboards since Jordan is a performer he knows how to design KBs!
. Customise & remember key sizes (fatter/thinner keys), & position (what register) you leave the keyboards in.
. Hold buttons for keyboards, eg so you can hold a chord on the top keyboard, while playing a lead on the bottom one
. Octave up & down buttons
. In the midi editor - octave up & down buttons
. When u rename a track in the sequencer, the mixer should display the same name, instead of just A03, etc
. Reorder tracks in sequencer, in the same way that u can reorder effects
. Volume automation for audio tracks by drawing curves on to them(that don't use the mixer)
. The first track, TRACK 1, should just be called MAIN / MASTER
Many thanks, & all the best
lets prevent this from turning into meandering mess of a thread.
if you have any suggestions to workflow - contribute in a concise manner.
thanks
great suggestions - all of them. so many little things that could make life easier.
octave up and down, renaming track in mixer, master track not labeled t1...
excellent stuff.
thanks gdog
Another thing to think about is how to display midi CC tracks?
Eg, if ur recording a lot of simultaneous CCs using an external controller (eg Midi Designer) - viewing just one at a time won't be good enough to do editing afterwards (coz u want to see what the res is doing at the same time as the fco, etc). Separating Midi CCs into separate tracks could be a solution, that u can have an overview of in the main sequencer would work, but having an option to hide or expand them would be best. Eg, you record maybe 10 midi CC tracks on midi track 1, you touch the track info panel (on the left), option to expand/hide midi CCs pops up.
Also, when editing inside one of these midi CC tracks, maybe there could be buttons along the top with the other recorded CC tracks for fast switching to other CC tracks (instead scanning thru all the available & unused CCs thru the drop down menu).
Another nice feature would be to have a 'ghost channel' for the last selected CC track in the the background of a newly selected CC track. Eg, you just finish editing the fco, u switch to the res CC track, & the fco track is still visible in the background.
Hope this makes sense <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> All the best
you are absolutely right about the midi cc. current automation is pretty clunky (still best on the ios thought). if there is a custom midi instrument i think one can expect some improvements in this area aswell.
thank again for your contribution. i hope intua pays attention your suggestions as they are right on the money.
