edited December 2012 in General
Edit: use with caution!!

Works, but you MUST double check that everything transfers manually.. Stuff just randomly disappeared....

Update- I had 3 out of probably 20 sessions that didn't work...seeing as that I have the backup on my desktop I am not worried.
I will retransfer and post back...

Okay.
So now I retract my positive statements regarding the reliability of ifunbox, and reaffirm my strong belief that iTunes file sharing is an absolute f***ing necessity with BM2. The only feature that matters to me right now is the one that will give piece of mind knowing my work is backed up properly. Period.
I overlooked the fact that 3 of my projects and one drum machine preset are now lost forever.... They never transferred from the iPad during the backup.
My "my content" folder is very organized, except for the damned audio tracks that just plop down in the root folder. I have a folder for projects, samples, and presets (with subfolders for drum machines and keyboard- which I have yet to use anyway ), so this is a huge blunder on my part not catching that. On the other hand, should we have to inspect each and every folder and file to make sure they backed up correctly???
Take every other feature request and throw it out the window until we have a reliable method to back up!!! FTP is the same as ifunbox- you basically have to double check the backup manually. Dropbox is cool for quick backups and samples, and is very convenient and I am glad it is in the app. But for complete backups ( which if you are serious about your work, you will do very regularly) it is way too slow.

I apologize for endorsing the flimsy software so quickly, and I guess it was too good to be true.
Like MicGee$ said, the money is not a problem for those of us who take this software very very seriously. We believe in BM2 and if I need to shell out mo cash then so be it. Lets just get it right!
Ok, now where were we.... Oh yeah...
itunes file sharing now please... Followed by audiobus

There is also iExplorer which is very similar to iFunBox... I've only used it for a few transfers etc. but it seems to work well. The free demo of version 3 lets you access the iPad's filesystem etc. I've also had good luck with an adhoc wifi connection and ftp with Cyberduck.
