BM2 midi out to Sunrizer

edited December 2012 in Support
Hi,
I've been experimenting with BM2 for several months now, without any prior DAW experience.
A few days ago I bought Sunrizer (after seeing it mentioned several times here) and now I'm trying to get them to work together.
My intention was to use BM2 as the sequencer and drums machine and Sunrizer for the synth and I've ran into some problems/questions <!-- s:idea: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_idea.gif" alt="" title="Idea" /><!-- s:idea: --> :
1. I am able to control Sunrizer from BM2 using empty keyboard and Midi out, but when I press BM2 [play] all other tracks also go through Sunrizer and I don't want that.
How do I send only the keyboard Midi control to Sunrizer while all other tracks play through BM2?
2. Can I control anything else (in Sunrizer, from BM2) besides the keys (LFO, OSC, etc.)?
3. Can I use automation on Midi out?

If the answer to 2 and 3 is "no", what would be the correct workflow assuming I want to use Sunrizer LFOs and filter and change them during playback?
Record in Sunrizer and copy&paste to BM2? Using a third app?

Thank you.

on 1. Set the MIDI out channel of all tracks that should not control Sunrizer to NONE (the default in BM2 is ALL, which I really wanted to be changed no NONE since a long time btw.)

Best practice is, to set all tracks, that use an internal (BM) destination to NONE and all others only to the channel the desired destination APP's MIDI IN is set to.

    Thank you. It indeed works!

    Can I do the following?
    - Create the drums and bass tracks in BM2
    - Playback these tracks
    - Switch to Sunrizer and play the lead synth and send it to a separate track on BM2 to record

Yes you can but what I prefer to do is play Sunrizer through virtual midi so I can edit the midi notes then add it in BM2 through an audio track. Just in case you are not aware, you can set Sunrizer to record on first touch. This makes it much easier dealing with the audio files once they are transferred to BM2.

My only problem with your method is that I want to modify the Sunrizer knobs (LFOs mostly) during the recording.

I see. I haven't tried it with Sunrizer but I do it with sample tank. I record the midi in BM2. Then as the midi is playing in BM2 I switch to sample tank to adjust different effects but I hit the record button in BM2 so I have a pre roll before I get to sample tank. It's probably easier to do with Sunrizer because it has the record on first touch option like I mentioned.

BUT... STILL... how do I record Sunrizer's output in BM?
BM->Sunrizer midi-out is fine, but I want the audio recorded on BM2.

Do I need an audio extra which would receive Sunrizer's audio output? but as far as I understand, that requires audiobus. Am I correct?

    Thank you.

I misunderstood your question, I apologize. Yes you need audiobus to record sunrizers output directly into BM2. There are video demos that show how it will work once BM2 is updated. You can probably find them on YouTube.
