Korg NanoPad 2 not triggering drum pads

edited February 2013 in Support
Can I ask for some help on my Korg NanoPad 2 controller not triggering drum pads in BM2 ? It work ok with keyboard sampler, but I can not use it for drum pads no matter what I do...I changed octaves up and down in controller...still no response.
Controller work flawlessly in other apps, like iMPC,...

Thanks for any help....

  • Hello benetom,

A few things you might want to check:

Is OMNI mode enabled? You can find this switch on the transport bar (MIDI connector icon).
If it is enabled, any instrument that is currently open (ie: you are inside its screen) will receive MIDI data from any controller on any channel.

However, if it is disabled, you need to configure the instrument so it receives MIDI data from a specific MIDI channel. To do that:
    1. Open the studio pop-up, find the drum machine and press the "MIDI" button next to the thumbnail.
    2. Set the INPUT MIDI channel (most likely 1, check your controller configuration)

The first pads of the drum machine (bank A) will respond to the first 16 notes of your MIDI controller (ie: lowest octave). For example, PAD A.1 responds to MIDI note C minus 2.
Each pad displays the MIDI note it is associated to.

There are 8 banks of 16 pads = 128 notes.

    Hope this helps!
    Mathieu.

Thanks on fast reply. I had Omni mode on, on drum pads ch.1 still nothing (tried all channels as well)...if I chose for example 2nd track (Keyb sampler with some sound) NanoPad works with no problem...I have only problem with Drum pads not triggering sounds...will try to test some more

NanoPad 2 work Ok in other apps...

MIDI Bridge app saved the day NanoPad was triggering like 5 octaves higher than bank A on Drum Pads in BM All I had to do was to map notes goin out of NanoKey within the app.

    Solution made

Thanks again for the effort !
