Beatmaker 2 & Alchemy synth can't work together

edited March 2013 in Support
Hi beatmakers,
Has anyone tried using both apps together?
I've tried sending midi from BM2 to Alchemy and what happens is that BM2 slows down and Alchemy produces a distorted sound.
I couldn't get them to work even when midi is not being sent.

It actually seems like a CPU usage issue.
Is Alchemy that heavy in CPU? I had no problem using Sunrizer, for example.

I'm using IPad 4. BM2 2.4.3. No other App was running at that time.

That may be something to do with the frame rate being set for audiobus. I read its going to be altered in the next update.

No Audiobus in the setup (in fact, Alchemy does not support AB yet). Only two apps working together.

Bm2 is set at base frame rate for audiobus even if it is not active. On older devices and high CPU usage apps this does cause problems, but is being fixed <!-- s:-) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:-) --> (allegedly)

    Yes. 256 frames.
Make sure nothing else is running in the background, and do a restart.

Alchemy=cpu monster...probably why it isnt bus compatible, not much will run along with it in my use. Ipad2 just simply isnt having this kind of processing split.

Maybe if the ipad4 handles it more efficiently we can expect audiobus for alchemy, but i honestly dont think so...as this app is serious even on a real desktop computer do to its sampling methods etc.

You wont get much mileage from anything korg on audiobus either...they are all monsters
