BM2 AudioBus Question

edited March 2013 in Support
The thing is that im new to music production and find audio bus hard to use with BM2.

Mainly because I cant see how many bars are being counted off and have to estimate it as I record in it.

Is their a way that I can see how many bars are being counted as I am recording or should I perhaps just lay the drums for my tracks first? What if I decide to start without drums?

Also when using synths should the BPM of the synth be the same as the one in BM2 or could it be faster or slower?

Im getting frustrated <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt=":cry:" title="Crying or Very Sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

I posted this in the general section and got no help so now im posting it here.

    When you have a track armed to record, and you tap the record button (top right), you get a record setup panel. This includes pre-roll. To the left of the MIDI icon is the Metronome settings button. Configure to choice, e.g. metronome on record, pre-roll 1 measure, then via Audiobus switch to the other App for your performance, open the BM2 Audiobus part of the AB strip, hit record then play, count to four and start playing.

    Hope this helps.

    So basically I have to count to stay on beat? I mean most Synth patches have a delay on them so I have difficulty staying on beat.

    Also does when using a synth does the bpm of it have to be the same as the one in BM2?

    No, you count metronome ticks. As to bpm, try enabling clock out from BM2 to your synth and set the synth to external clock. Start/Stop may not work but I believe the bpm should track OK.

    If you can't keep time with your ears, you have an even worse time (!) of it using your eyes to watch the beat counter. Ears are faster than eyes. By a lot - 5 msecs vs 150 msecs. Also the grapohics update slower than the audio out. Again, by a lot.
