I have problem with audio recording other synths....I have an iPad 4 & I think there isn't a memory problem....
The audio make a strange pitch change and clips.
Let me know if is only my problem...
hello
you write that you hear clips when recording other music apps to beatmaker 2.
Do you mean clips like a old turntable???
Because thats my problem. The sound quality is going down when recording from Loopy hd or other apps.
When i start musicstudio instead of beatmaker 2 the sound is not changing bad. It sounds like it should sound , clear and good.I have tried all latency in the settings but nothing happend.
the problem is when i hit record in Beatmaker 2 the clips or clacks are recording into my clear beatloop. than when i play the Loops i hear the clips noise in Backround of the loop.
the same with sunrizer, clear sound but when starting beatmaker 2 for recording it changes to bad
I hope you mean the same
I have the same issue when recording with BM2 on my iPad 2. I'm starting to get artifacts in my recordings that weren't there before. Please fix this issue ASAP, Intua! There are threads in the Audiobus forum with many users reporting similar issues. I hope to get serious with BM2 once again. I can confirm that it happens with Addictive Synth as well as all the aforementioned apps by users all over the net.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I too am having the same issues. I am running BM 2 on a newly purchased iPad 4 (64 GB). I have the problem with Sunrizer and Music Studio while trying to record into BM 2.
Same here, iPad 4. Beatmaker2 and Audiobus worked perfectly before, but now various artifacts in the sound. Now artifacts when I use MT DAW or GarageBand with Audiobus.
We are currently investigating this issue that seems to affect only a group of users.
We need to collect as much information as possible on your setup to understand the source
of the problem. This seems to be a very tricky bug.
Please provide the exact device model you are using (for iPads: WiFi/3G is also important reporting); along with your iOS version. If your device is jailbroken, please say so too.
Also, please try creating a simple project without Audiobus running, with one audio track connected to the device microphone and try monitoring/recording. Please report any glitch if the audio, if any.
We are trying to reproduce the issue with no luck so far, tried a lot of different setup possibilities.
If you have the possibility to install BM2 and Audiobus on another device, please try this and report! You can even try deleting BM2 and reinstall it, ensuring you backed up its content beforehand. Deleting an app will wipe all of its content so please take care if you are going to try a BM2 reinstallation.
Hi Mathieu, thanks for giving this issue attention. I'm using a 32 gb ipad 4 wifi only and had this problem on both ios 6.1.2 and 6.1.3. The glitching issue occurs when I'm using Sunrizer, ThumbJam, Magellan, Animoog, and DXi. I did not notice any problems with NLog Pro.
Everything works fine when using virtual midi with these apps without audiobus. These glitches only occur when BM2 is on the Audiobus ouput. BM2 on the Audiobus input seems to not affect anything.
I experience the clicks also. I use iPad 3rd gen, iOS and BM2 completely updated. I have not tested it on iPhone yet..
Experiences:
-Animoog is a good app to use to recreate this although I have experienced it with almost every connected app.. Even guitarism which doesn't use midi in any way. SO it's not midi.
-You don't have to be recording, as long as BM2 is in the output slot the problem occurs
-Sometimes it may not crackle immediately, anyone trouble shooting this should play for at least 5 minutes per synth.
-It doesn't matter which app is on top.. I mean if I use midi to send to the app it clicks, if I play the app with it's on screen controller I get clicks. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with CPU usage.
-Closing all open programs and restarting iPad doesn't help
-The clicks are often very quiet, please use a high volume when attempting to recreate.
-Adjusting settings like latency in the iOS setting app does not help.
-Adjusting the audiobus latency doesn't help.
That's all i can think of at the moment.. I will try uninstalling/reinstalling BM2 and see if it fixes it. I'll post my results back here.. I was avoiding this due to all the backing up it takes but I love BM2 and am getting very sick of not being able to use it in the way I want..
Running audiobus with pretty much any synth controlled by BM2 will give the crackles eventually. I tried recording an audio track with the wifi off and this worked only once, until the next attempts yielded lots of steady crackles. And yes, you have to pay close attention to hear them. They really pop out at the mastering stage if you miss them while recording.
I think the previous comment was pretty thorough.
Also, I would imagine there's a larger group of people just not bothering to report and moving on to other things. I happen to think bm2 is alright and am taking the time to report.
Tried reinstalling. Turned off wifi and all other apps, audio input (thru audiobus) with animoog and Magellan controlled thru bm2 midi...still have crackling, and even louder ones. I tried these separately. As soon as they are off the bus, no problems.
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling but no luck. Same clicks.
Here are a few more things I tried with no success
-Open BM2 first, then AB
-Open AB first then BM2
-load input app before Bm2
-load input app after bm2
-Open and close input app (discounect from AB)
-Disconnect and reconnect BM2 after AB is open
-Load bm2 in output, Disconnect BM2, close and restart audiobus, reconnect BM2
-many more variations of the above, too many to list
-Airplane mode
-DO NOT DISTURB mode
-Lock/unlock screen rotation
-enable/disable multitasking gestures
-removed provisioning profiles
Given the circumstances i'm thinking the problem is most likely with the audio monitor. I have not tried to record from the microphone outside of audiobus so I can't be sure.. but that is my hunch. Half of the last update was updates to how recordings are handled so it's concievable that an error was made.. If I were you though, Mathieu, I'd look at the changes you made when updating the AB sdk, I'd consider that an excellent place to start.
Was 2.4.6 submitted as critical or is it going to be another week or more before we see it in the app store? just curious. Thanks a bunch for squashing the bug so quickly.

Is MIDI clock involved in your setup ? Either in receive or send mode.
Still collecting feedback and hints...
Thanks to everyone for their time helping us resolving this bug.

I'm *really* hoping this can be figured out...

We have been able to reproduce the bug and we are currently working on a fix.
We will issue an update ASAP !
