    Android has shitty latency still

I used to be an Android fan, but I gave up on Google long ago. It's been 5 years and they haven't cared to fix the atrocious latency issue. Just look up Android Issue 3434. If you want serious music apps on a tablet iOS and Windows 8 Pro are your only options. Google only cares about locking people into their services and selling their data. Stop wasting time with Android if you wanna create music.

Caustic sounds decent for a first attemp. I getting tired of apple over pricing stuff.

You pay for the best though. That's why it costs money, because it is valuable. With the ipad your paying for an amazing processor, a great tablet os and display. The camera on it is also amazing, at least the out facing one the one to that is facing the front of the device sucks. At least on the ipad 3 I own, maybe they updated that. You also get good battery life with the ipad. But with android with most of their tablets your paying for crap imo.

I have yet to check out the windows 8 tablets and what music making is like on their system. But developers seem not to be too excited to work on apps for the device as of yet.

Even the oldest and weakest iOS device is better than the newest and most powerful Android device when it comes to music making. If iOS music app developers could make apps for Android they would, but unfortunately high latency stands in the way. Caustic is more like ReBirth. Real time playing isn't required in the pattern based note draw-in sequencing style Caustic has. BeatMaker 2 is like an MPC. You can draw notes, but it's made for recording your patterns live with low latency. Stop wasting your money on Android devices and invest in an iOS device. They're supported for much longer and you'll have amazing music apps for almost nothing compared to the functionality they offer.
