BM2 and Arturia iMini - virtual MIDI

edited April 2013 in Support
Hi,
I've asked this question on the Arturia iMini forum too (and someone has responded saying they have the same problem)..
I can't get BM2 to trigger iMini using virtual MIDI. I can use BM2's MIDI keyboard instrument to play other virtual MIDI apps (Sunrizer, Magellen etc) but when I try the exact same setup with iMini, playing the BM2 keyboard does nothing.
Both apps can 'see' each other (iMini's MIDI connection panel says it can see BM2 and vice versa) but they're not talking to each other.
I'm glad I'm not alone in this. However, has anyone on this forum seen this behaviour? And better still, have they solved it?
The responder on the Arturia forum says that he can get another DAW app to play iMini using virtual MIDI, so that kinda points to some issue between BM2 specifically and iMini. But that's not a certain hard fact.

Hope someone can help - because I really want use MIDI to control iMini from BM2!!

What midi channel is the mini setup to receive on?
It should absolutely work as long as the midi channel assignments are the same.
BM2 defaults to channel one for output, so maybe double check those?

The iMini doesn't support a changeable MIDI in channel; only MIDI CC changes. I've tried setting BM2 to All MIDI channels, and every MIDI out channel from 1 to 16 but to no avail.

I've read other iMini users complaining that they can't control iMini from other DAWs so I guess I should head back over to the Arturia forum and keep asking there!

Just a thought- do you own midi bridge? That's usually the go to app for situations like this.
Hopefully you can get it working, as the Arturia app looks like one sweet piece of app!

If you run freEWI no set up required just launch.....they both then work together....bizzare but it does the trick.......and freEWI is free....
