newer iPads and ALESIS iO Dock...
Hey guys,
now with iOS 7 my iPad 2 is definitely too slow for what I usually run (even only BM2 together with Alchemy produces dropouts). I wanted to get a newer iPad model but only, if it's still compatible with the Alesis iO Dock.
To my info, due to the as always "amazing" lightning connector only the iPad 3rd gen is the newest I can use by design.
But even the iPad 2 is still ridiculously expensive and the difference between iPad 2 and 3 isn't that big, so I wanted to ask if you people here know, if there's a workaround (e.g. an adaptor) to get newer iPads work with the Dock? And maybe you also have own experiences.

I'm actually totally pissed from Apple changing this and that so fast.
I have a Virus from 1997, even a DX7 from 1985 and several other synths from years past. All of them still work and are compatible with my other MIDI stuff, but the f**king iPad from 2011 is almost screwed up by the OS and sooner or later not usable any more and newer iPads not compatible with my additional hardware because of a dumb new format of the connector.
Bad deal, I would say.
Yes, it's the first virus that came out, so A. I was actually calling the store everyday "and, you got it?" until it finally came out, like nowadays people standing in cues for a new iPhone. Instantly bought it and didn't regret any Pfennig (=german cent those days). Great stuff still, though I must confess I haven't used it since a long time, cause I thought I completely switch to iOS music making.
Though not-one-analog-and-so-noise-component-anymore was appealing, I guess I'll come back to the hardware synths again, being really annoyed, that you can't even be sure now, that your compositions are still ok after half a year or so.
