Distortion on Mixdown

I've got a song that sounds fine in the sequencer but as soon as I mix it down into a stereo wav I'm getting pockets of distortion. Nothing's redlining anywhere. Anyone got any ideas why this might be?

Got a lot of tracks and effects and really want to avoid exporting the lot to Auria if I can avoid it...

    Is is the whole mix or just certain instruments? Does it coincide with any certain automation or fx? That's a strange thing to happen!

    Think I've got a rogue flanger in here that's not happy with other stuff going on at the same time. Took it out and took down the volume a little and it seems okay now. Not perfect, but definitely better. Thanks for the pointer to the fx. Was spot on.
