Alter tune/pitch of a note mid-sample?

I would like to change the pitch of a note mid-sample in the drum machine. Specifically, I wish to trigger the sample, and then half-way through the sample raise the pitch 50% and then bring it back. I can do this live, but I haven't the foggiest as to how to actually record/track it this way. Editing the tune of the note in the sequencer seems to only change the pitch at the beginning of the note and it remains the same for the during the note.

Help and advice greatly appreciated.

    Use the keyboard sampler and set the pitch bend to control pitch then record it in and tweak it in the automation in the sequencer until it's perfect
