Imported sample playing back too slowly

I imported a fairly long sample, dropped it into the drum pad. When I tap it, it plays back slower and at a lower pitch than the original. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I don't want the sample warped to match any marked tempos. I just need it to play as-is. Suggestions are very welcome, and thanks in advance.

    Is your device connected to an external audio interface ? This sounds like a sample rate issue. Are you able to share the sample somewhere so I can test this ?
