the external microphone question...

Hi all.

I am very excited about this upcoming update to Beatmaker, and I have just begun to search for HQ external microphone options and am coming up a little short. Does anyone here have any experience with them at all? Are there some nice mics in the pipeline? I will be in heaven when i can record directly into Beatmaker using a nice mic. I suspect the mic on the headphones and the phone itself won't completely cut it...

    No external mics as of yet unfortunately...as far as i know.

    If you really want to use a good mic (and I don't know why as I imagine the preamp is going to make it sound like a phone anyway) you could get one of those Tip-Ring-Ring-Sleeve cables that go to red/white/yellow female RCA jacks and then use a 1/4" or XLR to RCA adapter to connect any mic you want.

    I bought a Shure microphone for the iphone 3G that has a plug to snap in any headset you want. I forget the model now.. it was like $40. The sound is very clear, and you can plug in any headset you want with it. Shure is well known in the music business, not sure if this mic I got is made by Shure or contracted to China.. but everybody says I come in clear and sounds great. I bought mine off of amazon I think. If you do a search for Shure iphone you should find it.

    Is this the model you mentioning?

    It actually looks great, seems pretty expensive but if the mic quality is good I might buy it.
