Free AU plugins - RoughRider2 + Svep

I never used AU before but saw these for free in app store. Guessing most peeps on here are already way ahead with AU fx collections and better quality than these but posting quick heads up anyway.

RoughRider2 is a compressor by audiodamage. I used to use their dubstation vst on evvvverything! Nice to see them in the app store.

Had 5 mins using them. Both seem worth keeping for now.

RoughRider2 seemed way more instant with character over the BM3 compressor (to be fair I've barely explored that tho..). Squashed some drums with some added vibe from what I could hear on ipad speaker..

Svep is like a phaser/Chorus thing. Super simple but sounded OK. Weirdly this one had two 'power' button icons in the BM3 FX bin? Dunno if that's a bug or means stereo plugin or something? Also Svep doesn't load its UI inside BM3. It switches app...

Maybe a 'plugins' category to the forum would make sense?

    Rough rider is good, but seems it takes more cpu than whats built in bm3. I havent messed around with it and bm3s compressor to see much of a difference. If you prefer it, and are running a larger session, i have a tip for using this sort of more power hungry plugins. Basically first use bm3s comp to get compression you want, and when the track is ready for final polishing, start using more power hungry apps instead of whats on bm3(like rough rider instead bm3 comp) and raise the buffer size for things to require less cpu, but giving more latency(which shouldnt be a problem at this point. Or well at least this trick works with other software, havent tried it on bm3, but thats what raising buffer size does, so should work on bm3.

    Svep is like meh, at least for me. Im not a fan of its interface, and bm3 does these effects natively. But its free, so a great deal for the price :D I need to check fac chorus when i get some money on my itunes account. It seems really nice.

    Svep does phasing, there is no native phaser in BM3 yet.

    Nope, no certain way required. Just visit the app store and look under the 'Music' category. A good place to start might be the 'Top Paid apps' list where you'll find the more useful and higher rated apps. Or check out @philowerx list of AUv3 posted above ..which is great.
