Give me the night to play and I'll post more "formal" impressions tomorrow in the A.M. I must say once again thanks for the amazing update!

    Wow, an incredible update.....i didn't expect the filter to sound this good....
    now i'm putting all my one shots synth samples in my iphone for melodic stuff...
    great!!
    A small square sample with the filter and delay (now it sync to tempo correctly), editing with the pitch editor : melody heaven!
    Thanks Intua for this great update

    Very many thanks Intua. It's quite hard not to get emotional about this app. Having begged for ages for the update, can I ask about the new manuel(but don't rush - I'm loving working it out for myself)!?

    Edit;
    Worked it out and am BLOWN AWAY!!! Pound for pound you guys are embarrassing the big DAW makers - it's SO stable(have you thought about a PC/mac DAW version?)!! Can't imagine what you'll do with the next update but there's plenty to do on this on in the mean time.

    VERY BIG THANKS!!

    Thanks Intua, looks great. I give you 9/10 for this.
    The only reason not being 10/10 is the one feature which I though you might implement adn is important to me but not to others but it didn't happen.
    That is the ability to control pad 'release' .
    Meaning..If you want you can play the whole sample that's fine you do it like it is now, but if you want to play just the portion of the sample then that should be equivalent to pad press hold. I hope you'll work something out in the next few months.
    That being said. this is already the best app to date so congratulations and thank you again.

    Found a couple of minor glitches so far.

    The main one is that after the update I loaded a project. On this project I had previously loaded the same sample to 4 different pads on the kit. Then I had chopped and edited the .wav differently for each pad so that each one triggered part of the sample. After the update all 4 pads played the same small part of the sample for some reason so I had to go back and re-edit the .wav for those pads.

    The other glitch is that the program now runs very sluggish at times. Luckily it's not when you're actually recording or sequencing. The main time I noticed it running very slowly is when browsing through beatpacks.

    I like the new beatpacks. Did anyone load up the genjokoan sequence by Mb under Artist Kits?! That is TIGHT!! Nice sounds on that kit too!
  • Hello,

    Please send us your bug reports at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:support@intua.net">support@intua.net</a><!-- e -->, we'll take care of them for version 1.3.1.
    If you had a trouble loading a project made with a version prior to 1.3,
    please attached your projects files and samples to the email: it will make things easier for us to spot the problem.

    Thank you,

    Just ran through v1.3 quickly. Great job, Intua!

    One question: where did the master volume slider go? I use that a lot when switching headphones, etc. The Mixer section only allows volume adjustments for individual samples. Thanks!

    Tough 2G runs at a faster clock speed than iPhone 3G.

    please tell me you didn't get rid of the groove edit function
    it's not in the step editors page... <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->
  • The Groove editor has been removed simply because it became useless, since now you can edit your pattern at a resolution above 1/16 bar (you can now select between 1/16 to 1/64T).
    If you try to change the step resolution in the step sequencer, you will find that you can now create much richer rythmic patterns.

    About the volume slider, it was duplicating a function already available on the iPhone and iPod Touch 2G, which have their own volume controller.
    On iPod Touch 1st generation, double-pressing the iPod's Home button will bring you the volume controller.

    Hope this clarifies your doubts,

    that's err.. unfortunate. calling what i found the most useful feature about beatmaker 'useless' doesnt exactly 'clarify my doubts'. the only reason i bought beatmaker was to use the groove editor to make wonky, shuffly offbeat rhythms very quickly and export the midi to Live (Live has no real groove editor). it was a totally unique feature on iphone, and pretty rare for pc apps too.

    now beatmaker has a generic 16/32/64 step editor <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

    i know i can create similar grooves with the new features, but nowhere near as easily and as intuitively as i could an hour ago. now its a case of constantly changing resolution and zooming in and out to get the same effect.

    sorry to be all gloom here - the app overall is a big improvement - i'm just pissed that you removed what made beatmaker unique in the first place. a real shame.
  • Update is cool but the groove editor gone? Not a good look <!-- s:-( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":-(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:-( -->
    I also had da sample cutoff issue...
  • Ok, thanks for the feedback, we might put it back for 1.3.1 update.

    there's no piano roll like u thinking about, go in the step editor, and use pitch shift <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> that's what u search for.

    The new pitch editor is completely awesome, I cant wait to spend all weekend making some new music with all the new features! This has gotta be one of the best software updates I have ever seen, so many new features and they work flawlessly! Really couldnt ask for much better work than this. Free even!

    Ok, thanks for the feedback, we might put it back for 1.3.1 update.

    Intua Team

    Please do. It was one of my favorite things about BeatMaker. I spent some time searching for the groove editor and then when I realized you had removed it due to the new step options, I tried it out to see if I could do what I wanted. I think you removed a very useful feature and replaced it with a very different useful feature, but neither one accomplishes the purpose of the other.

    I would love to have cut and paste for groove patterns as well (quickly apply a favorite groove to a pad or a whole pattern), but that's for another day.
