    Intua,
    You removed a volume slider.
    I have iPod Touch 1st gen and for me that's a problem. You sugessted tapping twice the home button, but that's not working properly.
    It shuts down the Beatmaker more often than not. Thanks for the other stuff, but it seems that you removed groove editor as well.

    So they should make it clear you need to get the 2.2 update to get this. I had no way to download it until I got 2.2. Which is fine.. just didn't know that.

    So.. *sniffle* still only 16 sounds. Really limits creativity despite all the good stuff they put in. Great update for sure. Just dying to get more than 16 sounds per song so I can load many small phrases and make a robust song. Next update Intua.. pretty please! I know it was a pretty requested feature.. having more than 16 sounds.

    new update is tight..good job. i know all you beatmaker-junkies have your issues but, all in all the new o.s. is alot cleaner and easier to work on. there are still things i'd like to see like more pad banks(more sounds at one time). but come people...this shit is cool as hell, the next best thing isn't even close. hats off to the intua staff, you guys keep me makin beats no matter where i happen to be.

    This thing could be a standalone piece of equipment and not even on an iphone, and people would gladly pay 300$ for the thing I believe.Should possibly work with hardware vendors like KORG and see what kind of contract or 'collaberation' they could do. Get this thing on your own hardware and no worries of the lack of memory or hardware resources. You can design it probably without half of the bulk in the IPHONE both HW and SW, and make the next big thing to hit the dancefloor live, or the home studio. Really think this is the next logical step in music production, replace those giant SP606's with a couple of these things or just one bigger one that is custom made for more memory etc. The design of the app is really where all the value is, the hardware of course is the thing holding you back! The functionality you have programmed for is already built in lots of hardware (samplers). So really if you could just get your design ideas, navigation and techniques into a piece of hardware (a real sampler) that tool would be far beyond anything out there, and soon would eliminate the buzz of kaos pads, and even possibly eliminate the need of a laptop (ableton) for thousands of music acts. Makes you realize just how ancient the mainstream samplers are today, get with the times! New knobs and effects are great, but damn INTUA blew away all your user interfaces and made it far more intuitive in just a year!

    Yes, please, please, pretty please. Put the Groove editor back in... It gave the beat a natural or querky feel, that i can't recreate now... But for the rest, I do love the 1.3 update.     Honestly, the removal of the "Global Volume" feels like a big "F.U." to iPod Touch firstGen users, guys.

    Why no have just made it an additional tab under Pads>Mixer? Not like it would take up any extra real estate on the screen.

    Having played around with the update for a while now, I have to say I'm really impressed. It improves ease of use as well as functionality in a bunch of ways. I really like the sequencer zoom, pan and pitch, audio recording, the filter, and the x-y pad. I'm one of those who are screaming to bring the groove editor back - that's my only complaint.
  • I accidentally pressed edit waveform on an empty pad and beatmaker crashed... Dunno if that can help the great people at intua but I wanted to share that with y'all

    Hello,

    Congratz on this beautiful update! Really Well done.
    I have a few notes, when browsing to load samples to pads,
    browsing speeds take a hit when I get into the folder that contains the samples.
    The interface suddenly goes real slow and studdery.
    As soon as I jump back a folder back to smooth.

    I have this project where I imported some samples from various artist and beatmaker content.
    I was making a beat while building the kit. everything quite simple.
    When I imported a cowbell from the disco kit, the project went bad.
    crashing all the time.. experienced quite a lot of crashes on it.
    I was making some new kits this morning with new samples starting from scratch,
    and I had no problems whats so ever.
    As soon as I opened last nights project got the crashes again?
    maybe it got corrupted, or maybe the cowbell sound is crashing me,
    or maybe (but I don't think so) it was making me run out of memory.

    Overall, this version got quite hefty..beautiful. and powerful, but I definitely feel its pushing my Iphones resources.
    Do u guys recommend a way to release more resources, so that beatmaker is more speedy?
    I have a ton of apps, and I'm wondering if this becomes an issue to beatmaker..

    The piano roll is there, granted not quite like Fruity Loops, but it's there. Basically you need to lay out a pattern for the sound you want to "piano roll" in the sequencer section. While in the "edit pattern" portion of the sequencer you need to click "Step Editors". In here you get 3 options. The one you're looking for is "Pitch". 16 sounds is limiting, but honestly I've yet to hit those barriers. There's always a way around it if you're creative.
